About the artist:
Born in Brazil and shaped by life across four continents, her work draws on influences from Brazil, Portugal, Japan, and Aotearoa, forming a visual language that feels both intuitive and structured.
Her practice has been recognised locally and internationally, including exhibitions at Auckland Museum, a Parkin Prize finalist placing, representing New Zealand in a global exhibition of women artists in Dubai, and an artist residency in Japan that continues to inform her exploration of line and space. Recent shows include a solo pop-up at Spacefor and a duo exhibition with Japanese calligrapher Ito Junichi. Roberta Queiroga now based in New Zealand, works at the intersection of gesture, emotion, and space. With a background in architecture, her abstract compositions balance spontaneous mark-making with a refined, minimalist sensibility.
