Sharing these two wee gems by John Staniford. Who doesn’t love a beautiful wee nostalgia piece that you can pop anywhere and enjoy for years to come.

‘The Old House’
Oil on canvas
Size: 55 x 45cm

‘The Chimney’ by John Staniford
Small series - oil on canvas
Size: 25 x 25cm

Photo of John - I took at his Napier studio back in 2019. He is an absolute delight of a person and lets me raid his back catalogue of works whenever I visit. Such joy!

Introducing:
‘Mudlarker’
Handcrafted ceramic sculpture 2015
By Cat Thompson
Clay - stand or wall hang.

Cats work is nothing short of astounding. Each piece is intricately constructed with incredible skill and attention to minute detail. Use of different mediums such as NZ Local clays and US decals beautifully complimented with touches of pure gold make her pieces exceptional.
I took this photo of Cat at the Incubator in Tauranga when I first met her back in 2020. We chatted about her love of clay and fascination with what can be achieved with it.
Enjoy the discovery of Cats work on site.
Enjoy!

‘Time Signature’ by Angus Walker - sold and hung this weekend.
This gorgeous piece looks just incredible placed on a mezzanine level. Catching sunlight streaming in from windows at all angles, it glistens so wonderfully.
Our gallery space is currently closed and we are back keeping busy showing select works in our clients home, ensuring the piece and placement is right for them before making a decision. It is something we love doing and it’s great to have more time to spend in this area.
See anything you like onsite, give us a call or send an email and we can make a time to bring to you to view in your space! This service and hanging are completely complimentary and there is no obligation. It’s also much fun!

Last weekend we visited the wonderful Keith Grinter at his glass blowing studio in Whangārei and selected a few small gorgeous pieces for you to enjoy.
Two works in Keith’s ‘shard’ style in the most beautifully complimentary colours stood out to us and we couldn’t resist.
This lovely cherry blossom piece also sang and all three have made their way to the website - but only just as we have our eye on all three!
Last photo is one I took of Keith when I first met him in Oct. 2020. A wonderful half day spent watching Keith create. Every time I catch up with one of our amazing artists I realise how very lucky we are.

When a painting finds its person.
We delivered this piece to our client in Howick last week. An animal loving lady who has been house sitter/dog walker for many years. This piece by Sally Maguire - ‘Dog Walker’ spoke to her straight away and just fitted right in to her space.
Quay Gallery physical space in Whitford Village may be closed. But we are enjoying spending more time taking pieces to our clients to view in their space.
If you love something on our website, let us know and we will bring it to you!

END OF AN ERA
Quay Gallery in Whitford Village

After much consideration (and a wonderful four years) we have decided to close our Gallery space in Whitford Village.

With foot traffic and sales from the Gallery declining considerably since December, we feel it has run its course here and it’s time to pull back and run online only again for a while until a new opportunity presents itself. That will give us more time to enjoy taking works out for our clients to view in-home.

Our final weekend here will be 18/19 April and we will do 10% off most works in the Gallery from now until we close the doors for good.

So, keep an eye on our website, newsletters and socials for new works and give us a call if you want to view, we will bring select works to you!

Thanks for all the support!
