We have moved to our new location in Matakana but are still setting up the studio. Hopefully we will be up and running with new work by March 2022. Born and raised in Auckland, in 1961, Brendan has been working with clay full-time since 1987. He has a diploma in Fine Arts from Otago Polytechnic(1983), where he majored in painting. Brendan has amassed a large following of clientele who appreciate his fine New Zealand ceramics and creative and unusual sculpture. More recently his contemporary sculpture has seen him combine other materials with the ceramics such as steel, brass, aluminium and wood. His work has been exhibited throughout the country in major competitions and exhibitions where he has won several awards, and is represented in the Auckland Museum, James Wallace and regional collections. Brendan has taught Sculpture and Design at Unitec and at the Auckland Studio Potters Society. He has had additional experience working as a assistant stage manager and sculptural advisor for Inside Out Productions from 1995-2006 on various productions. c

Last year Matakana Potters Collective ( a group of local like minded potters), had a pottery show at Charlie’s Gelato, it was a great success so we are following it up with another Scoop 26. This year all the pottery participants have made 10 bowls that will be sold for a discounted price when you buy a gelato with it.

It’s been a busy time for us. After Brendan got his show up at Art by the Sea we were off to Raglan were he taught a full on 2 day slip decorating workshop. All the punters seemed to have a good time and produce some interesting work.
