Island Breeze is our monthly Pasifika wāhine art and craft session in Ashburton!

If singing, chatting, and art sounds like your cup of tea, come along on the third Thursday of every month from 1pm – 3pm.

Te Wiki o te reo Māori is next week, and we have made some new flashcards to celebrate! 🎉

The artworks on these flashcards were designed by tamariki and rangatahi from our local schools who entered our recent competition.

Each flashcard displays a winning artwork alongside English and te reo Māori kupu. They are a fantastic way to learn some new vocab and practice your reo - this year's theme is te taiao, nature.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to the opening of Heather Sarin's exhibition last Saturday!

Heather is a local artist whose mixed-media works explore both figurative and abstract elements inspired by nature. They are the perfect works for our transition from winter into spring! 🌸

In Colour is a great way to unwind and relax with like-minded people. Bring along your art and craft projects to share with others over morning tea once a month.

New members are always welcome. We will supply basic colouring-in sheets and materials, along with tea, coffee and a biscuit or two. We encourage those attending to bring along their own materials and projects, and to take part in our colouring-in competitions!

Natchez Hudson's exhibition Panthalassa explores changing landscapes, rising sea levels, and our perception of geological time.

In this exhibition, a central installation presents an impossible geography: vertically protruding shards of landscape invite disorientation as these seemingly massive and permanent things are tipped on their sides.

Alongside this are paintings of detailed mountain ranges, inverted, upended and floating in fields of colour.

Make sure to see this ambitious exhibition in person - Panthalassa is on display until 18 October.

Marilyn Rea-Menzies' intricate tapestries are currently on display in her exhibition Nature's Symphony: A Visual Journey through our Forests.

Explore depictions of the forest floor through Marilyn's lichen tapestries, created over the past six years. This exhibition also showcases her detailed drawings and paintings of the nature she discovers across the Buller Region.

Nature's Symphony is on display until 18 October. Don't miss seeing Marilyn's amazing work!
