What future do we imagine on the Moon, and what kind of explorers do we intend to become? 🌙

That’s the question behind MICROMOON — an art collection of ten microsculptures by international space artists. Each piece is small enough to fit inside a five cubic millimeter volume, blending meticulous craftsmanship with high-tech production methods.

MICROMOON will travel inside the Lifeship pyramid aboard Astrolab’s FLIP Rover, delivered to the lunar south pole by Astrobotic’s Griffin-1 lander, in the last quarter of 2026 🚀

🌙 Space Futures Debates at Space for Inspiration 2026

Moon Gallery, in cooperation with the European Space Policy Institute, is hosting a debate session at ESA - European Space Agency Space for Inspiration Conference in Copenhagen.

We will discuss important questions as humanity aims for the Moon: what role should culture play, and whether the space economy can be sustainable from the start.

Debate 1 — The Cultural Case for Returning to the Moon: Why Are We Going Back?

Moon Gallery joins ESA’s Space for Inspiration 2026 with an exhibition and a live debate session, bringing culture into the conversation on humanity’s future in space.

A curated display of space art, including art prints, sculpture, and mixed media art, alongside the Moon Bound Book and MICROMOON art collection — a cultural payload from the 2026 lunar mission.

🚀 Space Futures Debate

A live debate on the cultural, ethical, and policy dimensions of space exploration — organized and hosted in collaboration with the European Space Policy Institute.

Barbara Brownie tells us about her work, “Earth Sightseeing Itinerary for the Moon”. The work appears in Moon Bound in two forms: English and, an unknown lunar language. Barbara discusses the two main inspirations for this work: First, the parallels between astronauts’ Operations Data Files and George Brecht’s Event Scores; and second, pseudowriting and xenolinguistics.
