🌪️Inspired by the theme of the archaeology of the future in the exhibition Oblivion was unavoidable, we asked the participating artists the following question:
How do you see (systems of) forgetting and preservation reflected in your work in this exhibition?
This is how Clara Pallí Monguilod (Clara Palli) and Winnie Claessens (Winnie Claessens) responded:
Clara: “The work reflects on the acceptance of things coming to an end, even when we hope otherwise. It embraces the sense of being part of a larger whole, where everything is interconnected and subject to cyclical rhythms. To me, it is in the collective that there is a form of preservation and continuity. With this understanding comes a sense of responsibility.”

Winnie: “In my work, preserving ideas and systems plays an important role. Through scale models, video, and sculptures, I construct possible worlds in which architecture, technology, and infrastructure become traces of a particular way of thinking. By recombining existing images and ideas, they are both preserved and transformed. The work thus exists on the threshold between remembering and forgetting.”
