Joop Polder (born 1939) is a Dutch artist from The Hague who studied at several European art academies. His paintings are strongly influenced by architecture and by images from his dreams. In his work, he creates calm and almost silent worlds that contrast with the noise and speed of everyday life. Trains and trams frequently appear in his paintings, reflecting his lifelong fascination with railways and model trains. His compositions often depict terraces, stations, coastal landscapes, dunes, and sea views. The clear colors, light, and perspective give his work a dreamy and almost metaphysical atmosphere. His paintings are included in important public and private collections. Among the collectors are King Willem-Alexander and Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands. His work has also been exhibited internationally in cities such as Paris, Dubai, London, and San Francisco.

Joop Polder (1939) werd geboren in Den Haag en studeerde aan verschillende Europese kunstacademies. Zijn schilderijen worden sterk beïnvloed door architectuur en door beelden uit zijn dromen. In zijn werk creëert hij rustige, bijna verstilde werelden die een contrast vormen met de drukte van het dagelijks leven. Veel schilderijen bevatten treinen en trams, een thema dat voortkomt uit zijn grote fascinatie voor spoorwegen en modeltreinen. Zijn composities tonen vaak uitzichten, terrassen, stations, duinen en zeegezichten. De heldere kleuren, het licht en het perspectief geven zijn werk een dromerige en bijna metafysische sfeer. Zijn schilderijen zijn opgenomen in belangrijke publieke en privécollecties. Tot deze collecties behoren onder andere die van Willem-Alexander en Beatrix. Daarnaast worden zijn werken wereldwijd tentoongesteld in steden zoals Parijs, Dubai, Londen en San Francisco.
