Museum Rijswijk is gevestigd in een 17e eeuws herenhuis en een nieuwe vleugel midden in het oude centrum van Rijswijk. In het huis heeft de dichter Hendrik Tollens (1780-1856) gewoond, vandaar de naam Tollenshuis. Het museum bezit een omvangrijke collectie schilderijen, prenten, tekeningen en foto's die een link hebben met Rijswijk. Museum Rijswijk organiseert hedendaagse beeldende kunst tentoon
stellingen (papier- en textielkunst) en erfgoed tentoonstellingen. Het museum organiseert het ene jaar de Textiel Biënnale, het andere jaar de Papier Biënnale. In het museum bevindt zich het /DOC waar veel informatie te vinden is over Rijswijks cultureel erfgoed, textiel- en papierkunst. Het museum organiseert regelmatig rondleidingen, lezingen en workshops voor jong en oud en heeft altijd een interessante randprogrammerjng rondom de tentoonstellingen. In het Atelier worden schoolklassen ontvangen en vinden de workshops plaats. De ruimtes in het museum zijn uitermate geschikt voor kleine congressen, recepties, vergaderingen, lunches en diners. De Salon in het Tollenshuis is een van de mooiste trouwlocaties in Rijswijk. In het Tollens Café, in de prachtige tuin en op de twee riante terrassen geniet u van een koffie met de lekkerste appeltaart van de wereld en een eenvoudige biologische lunch. De museum shop heeft een exclusieve collectie kaarten, pop-up boeken, sieraden, kunstboeken en allerlei artikelen van papier en textiel. Museum Rijswijk is located in a 17th century mansion and a new wing in the middle of the old center of Rijswijk. The poet Hendrik Tollens (1780-1856) lived in the house, hence the name Tollens House. The museum has an extensive collection of paintings, prints, drawings and photos that have a link with the city of Rijswijk. Museum Rijswijk organizes contemporary art exhibitions (paper and textile art) and heritage exhibitions. One year the museum organizes the Textile Biennale, the next year the Paper Biennale. The /DOC is located in the museum, where a lot of information can be found about Rijswijk's cultural heritage, textile and paper art.
