Sunday, 20 September, Peter Bremers will present for the first time his new series ‘ Myths, Mirrors and other Fairytales‘ in our gallery.

For centuries, myths and fairy tales have helped us to better understand the world and ourselves. They tell of fear and courage, light and darkness, magic and hope.
Peter Bremers invites us to look at his sculptures with the curiosity of a child. With a playful, colourful visual language and his characteristic sense of form and beauty, he opens up a world full of stories, magic and wonder. A surprising exhibition that allows us to view reality through a lighter lens.

Opening of the ‘Wooden Characters’ exhibition by Johannes Hepp on Sunday 6 September.

We are pleased to present the wooden sculptures of Johannes Hepp. Wood forms the basis of virtually the entire sculptural oeuvre of Johannes Hepp. He deliberately chooses this age-old material because of the vitality, texture and individual character of each type of wood. Traces of chiselling, carving and sawing remain visible and contribute to the character of his sculptures.

People are central to his work. His figures emerge from memories, observations, dreams and encounters. They are not portraits, but recognisable human types who sometimes appear vulnerable, headstrong or lost. With humour and a touch of absurdism, Hepp explores human desires, insecurities, relationships and our place in the world.

The work of Zhuang Hong Yi (1962) can be viewed as a journey through the world. Wherever Zhuang goes, he gathers new experiences and images that find expression in his paintings. His work is constantly evolving, growing richer and, as a result, full of surprises.

In her work, the Danish glass artist Karin Mørch (1977) explores the relationship between form, light and space. Her work is characterised by simplicity and geometric forms. She draws inspiration from the interplay between straight lines and curved forms, from natural patterns and architecture, and from the specific properties of glass, such as transparency, reflection and optical distortions.
