The Corrie ten Boom Museum tells the extraordinary story of the Ten Boom family which saved 800 Jews in the "Hiding Place" from N**i death camps in WWII.

www.tenboom.org The ten Boom family were devoted Christians who dedicated their lives in service to their fellow man. Their home was always an “open house” for anyone in need. During the Second World War, the ten Boom home became a refuge, a hiding place, for fugitives and those hunted by the N**is. Ten Boom family members were eventually betrayed by informants and were sent to concentration camps

where most died, except Corrie ten Boom, who went on to tell the story of the family’s work with the Resistance movement. Her autobiographical book, The Hiding Place, was published in 1971 and made into a full-length feature film of the same name in 1975 and starred Jeannette Clift and Julie Harris. Upon purchasing and restoring the house, Dr. Michael D. Evans created the Corrie ten Boom Fellowship, an organization that follows in the tradition of the ten Boom family by continuing to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The Fellowship encourages Christians to exercise their faith by helping the Jewish people, praying for them and for the peace of Jerusalem in accord with the scriptural mandate in Psalm 122:6.

"No, don't hate, Corrie..."

Excerpt:

While in a concentration camp in Germany, Betsie ten Boom was becoming frail. One day while doing heavy manual labor, she kindly said to her guard, “Don’t give me more to do than I am trying to do already, because I am not strong enough to lift these heavy parts.” The guard flashed back, “You don’t decide what you do. I decide.”

At that the guard brutally beat Betsie. Corrie ten Boom, her sister, watched and was enraged. When the guard left, Corrie went over to Betsie who now had blood all over her face. Betsie immediately said, “No, don’t hate, Corrie. You must love and forgive.”

Corrie knew that she was unable. That night she went for a walk and told the Lord that she could not forgive “that brutal woman.” The Lord reminded her of a Scripture, “God’s love had been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.” (Romans 5:5) Corrie knew that what she was unable to do, the Lord, in her, was able to do.

She writes, “At that moment, when I was able to forgive, my hatred disappeared. What a liberation! Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hatred. It is a power that breaks the chains of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness. What a liberation when you can forgive.” ❤️✝️

Note: Forgiving someone who caused trauma does not condone their actions -- NOR does it mean allowing access. Forgiveness is a key that brings healing to your heart and keeps it clear from bitterness.

About Corrie's Dedication:

Four loved ones in Corrie's life gave their lives for the family’s commitment to love God and to love His people, especially the Jewish people.

Miraculously, Corrie came home from the N**i death camp. Here sister, Betsie, died in the camp. Corrie realized her life was a gift from God, and she needed to share what she and Betsie had learned in Ravensbrück:

“There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still,” and “God will give us the love to be able to forgive our enemies.”

At age 53, Corrie began a worldwide ministry that took her into more than 60+ countries in the next 32 years! She testified to God’s love and encouraged all she met with the message that “Jesus is Victor.”

Corrie received many tributes because of her efforts.

Following the war, Corrie was honored by the Queen of Holland as a War Hero. In 1968, the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem asked Corrie to plant a tree in the Garden of Righteousness, in honor of the many Jewish lives her family saved. Corrie’s tree stands there today.

In the early 1970’s, Corrie’s book The Hiding Place became a best seller, and World Wide Pictures (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association) released the major motion picture “The Hiding Place.” Corrie went on to write many other inspiring books. There are five evangelical videos about Corrie.

Corrie was a woman faithful to God. She died on her 91st birthday, April 15, 1983. It is interesting that Corrie’s passing occurred on her birthday. In the Jewish tradition, it is only very blessed people who are allowed the special privilege of dying on their birthday!

“We look at our sins by means of two influences:
A) Satan is an accuser of the saints (see Rev. 12:10). He shows us our sins and brings us to despair. He tells us that this is the way we are and that there is no hope of change for us.

B) The Holy Spirit shows us our sins in the blessed floodlight of the finished work of the Cross. He tells us Jesus died for these sins and bore the punishment and that He lives and is willing to make us more than conquerors. He [Jesus] cleanses us with His blood and gives us victory. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (see Rev. 12:11). ✝️❤️
