MU Hybrid Art House is een onderzoekend presentatie platform in een rijk internationaal netwerk van creatieve makers die met elkaar de liminale ruimte definiëren tussen 'wat kunst is en wat kunst kan zijn'. MU is gevestigd in een voormalige Philipsfabriek op Strijp S in Eindhoven.

Everything Moist Seems Alive is in full flow

Come experience a world where water, sound, body and a machine become an extraordinary, immersive experience that keeps unfolding.

Created by in collaboration with MU Hybrid Art House, .acket and , the installation explores water in all its contradictions. Through vocal libretto, soundscapes and a series of live performances, this liquid world comes to life, inviting us to dissolve the boundaries between bodies, machines and fluids.

And when we say we, we mean all the nominees! What a way to celebrate Eindhoven’s diverse and vibrant cultural scene.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported MU Hybrid Art House over the past two decades, and especially to cultuur eindhoven for making this possible.

🎓💭Voor het project ECOKINO verkenden leerlingen en docenten van het Stedelijk College Eindhoven samen met MU waar kunst en wetenschap elkaar kunnen ontmoeten.  Hun onderzoek bracht hen in contact met de tentoonstelling Bones of Graphene, Skin of Kevlar van Julius Thissen, veranderde de lessen biologie en CKV fundamenteel van vorm en liet hen met andere ogen kijken naar hun omgeving tijdens het veldonderzoek.  

🌀Zo ondervonden leerlingen al doende wat maken is en wat kunst kán zijn. Bovendien leerden zij tijdens de workshops, lessen, bezoeken en materiaalstudies dat de wereld niet bestaat uit afzonderlijke compartimenten (die op school ook wel vakken worden genoemd), maar dat het waardevol kan zijn om kunst, wetenschap, disciplines en onderzoeksmethodes met elkaar te verenigen om zo je perspectief op die wereld vanuit gemeenschappelijkheid aan te scherpen.

🌊🌪️💦 WE ARE OPEN 💦🌪️🌊
 
It’s a bit slippery, a little squelchy and gloriously moist…Everything Moist Seems Alive is now open at MU. A liquid world of seeping moisture, interconnected through leaking bodies, murmuring sewers, and mythological streams. Water drips, flows, splashes, seeps and sweats through a landscape of waterworks, moving pipes, resonating basins and gargling gargoyles. 
 
Live performances 
 
Through a series of live performances, Frieda Gustavs’ vocal libretto will be brought to life by a three-part choir, whose voices ripple through Boris Acket’s sonic landscape and set the waterworks bubbling, gurgling and flowing. Their bodily leakages are not sanitised or washed away, but celebrated, decorated and left to drip.

MU creates space for students to have open and nuanced conversations about identity, life and the world around them. Through conversations and creative exercises, we encourage students to question what they see, share their own perspectives, and explore identity, meaning and belonging.

As part of our education programme alongside the exhibition Bones of Graphene, Skin of Kevlar, we invited students to explore the dualities and ambiguities in Julius Thissen’s work. What kind of world do his creatures inhabit?

Together, they looked for signs of:

🌀 Visibility & Anonymity

Together with .acket, and , we invite you to the opening of Everything Moist Seems Alive!

Following the vocal previews at , the full installation Everything Moist Seems Alive now comes to life at MU: an interconnected landscape of water machines, gargling gargoyles, resonant basins, and pulsing pipelines. Driven by the vocal libretto of .music alongside the water machines and soundscapes of .acket, human and machine merge into one living, shared waterbody.

Water is our deepest nature, yet it mirrors our sharpest contradictions: life and death, calm and catastrophe, sacred purity and polluted toxicity. Confronting water in all its contradictions, the work invites us to dissolve the illusion of self-containment and surrender to our shared, planetary waterbody.

At the core of Lara Tabet’s Enter Corridors is a table where glass vessels, chemicals, soil, water, and algae come together, turning the Mediterranean Sea into a living system of exchange.

Her Half Lives paintings take this experiment further, mixing materials gathered from the shoreline
of Marseille with human-made chemicals and exposing them to sunlight. Here, contamination becomes more than a representation of the landscape: the landscape itself becomes a witness, and an active participant in its own histories.

A short film brings these relationships into motion, moving between microscopic, ecological, industrial, and geological scales. Together, the works explore time as something that settles into matter, travels through water, and transforms through living systems.
