🌎 Discovered by a German princess in Munich, award-winning portraits in Paris and Florence, painter to the Romanian court, co-founder of the Berlin Secession, and founder of her own art school in Berlin. Yet Dora Hitz (1853–1924) is still largely unknown in the Netherlands. It’s time to change that!
And we have the scoop: for the first time in the Netherlands, Dora Hitz’s work will be presented in a solo exhibition. From 10 October 2026 to 14 March 2027, DM De Buitenplaats will bring major works by Hitz to Eelde.
