Colorful fine art, bouncing on our accelerating live. Background and reason why of my work. Jos Brölmann. His work. Each painting is very recognizable.

Ever since childhood Jos has always been doodling, paint brushing and drawing. After working for years in international marketing communications, he shifted to being a full-time artist. His remarkable and colorful work has a clear message: “Keep looking as we are living in the fast lane”. Within this blueprint he created 3 different labels, "Other Stories", "Art of Nosybirds" and "Art of Weatherma

p". The combination of simplicity and intense bright colors stimulates ones senses. He believes that his art should create a feel good mood. Should give joy and happiness. Unconditionally. “If you see one of my paintings, it should make you a bit happier” Actually, it is a crucial part of the story behind my work". For that reason, it is difficult to overlook his work. It contains a good portion of “wall-power”. Color is a substantial part of his work. The colors of his paintings are often reflex as Jos likes his paintings to stand out. The combination of bright colors are crucial for his way of working; “By adapting the reality of an object to my color scheme and style, I emphasize what I see. Often things seem pale and colorless, but they never are, it is hidden.”

His inspiration. Jos finds inspiration in everything, simply because he is constantly looking out for things. No matter when and where. “Everything you see while paying attention to your whereabouts has a story of its own. Even a simple paving stone or a waste container. Never forget, various people have designed and produced these - for us - common things.”

The world around us. Nowadays we all live in the fast lane. There is extensive technology everywhere around us. We have to handle increasing globalization and mobility, our climate, nature and wild life is changing rapidly. To keep up with fast life it’s important to take a break every now and then. To actually be aware and see what is really going on, reflect and get new insights and perspectives. This accelerating world immensely fascinates Jos. It became a real eye opener and he wanted to find out how art could fit in this changing world. “Because everything around us is accelerating and changing, we need inspirational paintings that put things into a different mainly happy perspective”. Jos lives and works in Amsterdam. His work find its home at organizations, businesses and individual art lovers in various European countries, as well as in the United States and Canada. 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻
From April 21 to 26, new work will be on view at the Museum Singer Laren as part of Anna Singer Art Spring ‘26. Invited once again by the selection committee, two new works will be presented: “End of a Summerday” (100 × 80 cm) and “Let the Day Wait” (80 × 100 cm). Very pleased to be showing here again and hope to see you during the exhibition.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘂𝗽
Snow moments are getting rare. And when they happen, everything softens, the day, the pace, and even the noise around us. Well, this painting “Two Red Chairs” (80 × 100 cm), part of the series “Seasons on the Green Lawn”, captures that moment: a backyard covered in white and the easy feeling that comes with it. Snow has this quiet power to pause busy days and full agendas, making room for something unplanned. Just for a moment, and I guess, that’s often exactly enough.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 “𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁”
This busy breakfast table is really just an excuse to slow down. In my new painting, “Let the Day Wait,” breakfast isn’t rushed and the morning takes its time. It’s about that simple feeling, like sunlight on the table, the sound of a coffee machine in the background, fresh bread and warm coffee. Nothing complicated.
Just a reminder that it’s okay to let the day wait a little longer. Size 80-100 cm.

𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 “𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻” 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻
Selling a painting is always exciting, but having a work sell during an exhibition at Museum Singer Laren feels extra special. During Anna Singer Art ’25, I got the happy news personally from Madelijne Kool, chair of the Anna Singer Art Committee, which made the moment even nicer.
The exhibition itself really is something unique. It runs until Sunday 23 November and features contemporary works carefully selected by the Anna Singer Art Committee for their originality, quality, and distinctive voice.
And what makes it even more special: the artworks aren’t just on display, Friends of Singer Laren can also purchase or loan them.

𝗠𝗬 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞 𝗢𝗡 𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 𝗔𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗔 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗘𝗫𝗛𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡, 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗨𝗠 𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡
I’m excited to share that two of my paintings have been selected for the Anna Singer Art 2025 exhibition at the Singermuseum, Laren. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟴–𝟮𝟯 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, the museum will showcase a vibrant mix of around twenty contemporary artists, from paintings and sculptures to photography and mixed media. All works were carefully chosen by the Anna Singer Art Committee for their artistic vision, originality, and distinctive quality. It’s great to be part of this inspiring group of artists and to show my work in such a special place. The exhibition is open to all museum visitors, while the purchase or loan of artworks is exclusively available to Friends, Young Singers, Fellows and Fellow Founders of Singer Laren.

𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿
Well, I painted “Leap of Courage” (80×100 cm) right in the middle of a grey, rainy winter. And that was on purpose. Yes, this painting is about finding the courage to jump, but I also wanted it to bring that burst of summer color and feel good energy. Something to brighten up those shorter, cloudy days when the sun seems to have disappeared. I guess for me, summer isn’t just a season, it’s more like a state of mind.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, “𝗔𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻”
For the past weeks, I’ve been working on a painting that connects two iconic faces of Amsterdam and two chapters in its business story. My new work “An Amsterdam Composition” (100-100 cm) is inspired by the canal houses of the Herengracht (Gouden Bocht) and the high-rises of the Zuidas. Different in time, style, and scale, but both at the center of international trade and commerce. I see it as contrast and continuity. How a city like Amsterdam evolves, yet holds on to its drive, its rhythm, and very own identity.
Well, I’m proud to share this new work which will be shown this Saturday June 14 on the top floor of the Symphony Tower, 100 meters above ground. Right in the heart of the Zuidas. I guess, a fitting spot for a painting that reflects on the past and present of ambition in Amsterdam.
