Su Nuraxi: Sardinia’s Prehistoric Stone Giant.

Before the dominance of Rome or Greece, the people of Sardinia were constructing monumental stone structures known as nuraghi. Among them, Su Nuraxi near Barumini stands as the most iconic.

Built in the 17th century BCE, this fortress complex features a central tower surrounded by four corner towers, forming a bastion of defense and community life. By the 13th century BCE, a thriving village had emerged around it, complete with stone dwellings arranged in circular formations.

Artifacts found here indicate a sophisticated culture skilled in metalwork, textiles, and long-distance trade. Unlike other Mediterranean civilizations, the Nuragic people developed a distinctive identity shaped by isolation and resilience.

Su Nuraxi is more than just an archaeological site—it's a preserved echo of a unique civilization that carved its own path through prehistoric Europe.

Kerbstone 15 is a Neolithic stone over 5,000 years old, located at the Knowth passage tomb in Ireland’s Boyne Valley. It features elaborate carvings, including a central depression surrounded by 20 radiating lines, along with spirals and U-shaped designs.

As one of 124 decorated kerbstones encircling the tomb’s main mound, it belongs to the largest concentration of megalithic art in Europe. While some researchers believe it might represent a form of early calendar, the true meaning of its symbols remains a topic of speculation.
