In 1985 when an avalanche caused by the eruption of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano destroyed Armero and killed more than 20.000 people and Omaira Sanchéz was one of them, when the rescuers went to save her, they found her lower body was held down by a brick wall while her dead aunt's arms were wrapped around her feet. French photographer Frank Fournier who stayed by the dying young lady's side until she gave her last breathing, and captured her awful ordeal in a picture that showed to the world the magnitude of the tragedy.
