FREE UP YOUR PHONE STORAGE IN A MINUTE
PHONE STORAGE FULL? HERE’S HOW TO FREE UP SPACE WITHOUT DELETING EVERYTHING
Is your phone always showing “Storage almost full” or “Storage full”? 😩
You don’t necessarily need to delete your important photos, videos, or apps immediately. There are several things taking up space on your phone that you may not even realize.
Try these steps 👇
1️⃣ Delete unnecessary videos and photos
Go through your gallery and remove duplicate photos, blurry pictures, old screen recordings, and videos you no longer need. Videos usually take up much more space than pictures.
2️⃣ Check your Downloads folder
Open your Files/My Files app and check the Downloads folder. You may find old videos, documents, APK files, images, PDFs, and other files you downloaded months ago and completely forgot about.
3️⃣ Clear unnecessary app cache
Some apps store temporary files that can become quite large over time. Go to:
Settings → Apps → Select an app → Storage → Clear cache
⚠️ Be careful not to press Clear data unless you know what it does, because clearing data can reset the app or remove locally stored information.
4️⃣ Check WhatsApp storage
WhatsApp can quietly consume a huge amount of storage because of videos, photos, GIFs, voice notes, and forwarded files.
Go to:
WhatsApp → Settings → Storage and data → Manage storage
Check which chats are using the most space and remove files you don't need.
5️⃣ Delete apps you no longer use
Take a look at your installed apps. If you haven't opened an app in months and don't need it, uninstall it.
You can always reinstall an app later if you need it again.
6️⃣ Check your screen recordings
Screen recordings can become very large, especially if you record for several minutes. Check your Gallery and delete old recordings you no longer need.
7️⃣ Empty your Trash/Recycle Bin
This is one many people forget!
After deleting photos, videos, or files, they may still remain in the Trash/Recycle Bin for a period of time.
Check your Gallery and Files app and permanently delete items you are sure you no longer need.
8️⃣ Remove duplicate files
You may have the same picture, video, or document saved multiple times. Your phone's file manager may have a tool for finding duplicate or unnecessary files.
9️⃣ Move important files somewhere else
If you have important photos and videos that you don't want to delete, consider backing them up to a cloud service or moving them to another storage device.
This allows you to free up your phone without losing important memories.
🔟 Don't download everything you receive
Be careful with large videos and files sent through messaging apps. Downloading everything automatically can fill your storage surprisingly quickly.
💡 IMPORTANT: Don't randomly delete system files just because they look unfamiliar. If you don't know what a file does, leave it alone.
A good habit is to check your phone storage regularly instead of waiting until your phone becomes completely full.
