MEET ONE OF OUR PANELISTS - NNEKA ODILIMUO VIRGINIA (NEE EZE)

Nneka Odilimuo Virginia (Nee Eze) is an experienced educator and a strong advocate for academic integrity and the eradication of examination malpractice.

She holds an M.Sc. Ed. in Public Health, a B.Sc. Ed. in Health Education, and an NCE in Physics/Integrated Science.

With up to 30 years of experience teaching Physics, she has contributed immensely to the education of young people. She has also served as Dean of Studies for 11 years and as Vice Principal (Academics) for more than 5 years.

She is currently the Director, Science and Technology Department, PPSSC Headquarters, Awka.

With her wealth of experience in teaching, school administration and academic management, she brings valuable insight to this month’s IKORO, particularly on the issue of examination malpractice and its impact on education and society.

MEET ONE OF OUR PANELISTS - MAAZI AKA ELINWA

Maazi Aka Elinwa is a writer, translator, and educator with a strong academic background in Igbo and language education.

He holds a B.A. in Mass Communication, a B.Ed. in Educational Foundation/Igbo, and an M.Ed. in Language Education/Igbo.

He is an Igbo teacher at Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, and a member of the Society of Igbo Studies.

He will be joining us as a panelist at this month’s IKORO, where we will engage in meaningful discussions on issues concerning Igbo society and education.

Mr. Edeogu Abuchi
Debate Coach | Cognitive Developer | Education Advocate

Mr. Edeogu Abuchi is an educator and cognitive development advocate passionate about critical thinking, intellectual growth, and the development of young minds.

As a Debate Coach, he equips students with the confidence and reasoning skills to engage thoughtfully with complex issues. He also serves as the Financial Secretary, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Onitsha North Branch, contributing to the professional community of educators.

At IKORO, he brings his experience in education, critical thinking, and teacher advocacy to the conversation on examination malpractice, academic integrity, and the future of education.

MEET ONE OF OUR PANELISTS

Mrs. Ngozi Oguagha
Retired Principal, PPSSC Awka | Education Supervisor | School Management Board Member

Mrs. Ngozi Oguagha is an accomplished education administrator with extensive experience in secondary school leadership and educational management.

During her career with the Post Primary School Service Commission (PPSSC), Awka, she served as Principal of several schools, including Girls’ Secondary School, Owerre-Ezukala; Anglican Girls’ Secondary School, Onitsha; Ideke Girls’ Secondary School, Odekpe; and Metu Memorial Secondary School, Onitsha.

Currently, she serves as an Education Supervisor at DONEC and as a member of the School Management Board of several schools, continuing her commitment to strengthening education and supporting effective school administration.

At IKORO, she brings decades of experience and institutional insight to the conversation on examination malpractice, educational standards, and the path towards meaningful change.

Mrs. Ugo Esther Ositadimma
Veteran Educator | Writer | Actress

With over 24years of teaching experience, Mrs. Ugo Esther Ositadimma is a dedicated educator who continues to shape and inspire young minds through her work in the classroom.

She is also a published author of four works; The God We Made, Cry of the Innocent, Osokanachi, and My Friend, My Enemy and an actress who uses storytelling and theatre as tools for education, expression, and inspiration.

A passionate mentor and community servant, she has also served as a Teenagers’ Coordinator, guiding young people in their personal and spiritual development.

At IKORO, she brings her wealth of experience as an educator and storyteller to the conversation on examination malpractice, educational standards, and the hope for change.

MEET OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKER

DR. EKENE LONGINUS OGUGUA
Honourable Commissioner for Education, Anambra State

As part of the September Edition of IKORO, Chimefula Research Centre is honoured to welcome Dr. Ekene Longinus Ogugua, Honourable Commissioner for Education, Anambra State, as our Keynote Speaker.

Dr. Ogugua is a biochemist, pharmaceutical scientist and biopharmaceutical technology specialist whose professional journey spans scientific research, industry, academic development and public service. He holds a PhD in Biopharmaceutical Technology from De Montfort University, United Kingdom, alongside degrees in Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Science.

As Commissioner for Education, he has articulated a reform agenda centred on accountability, professionalism, improved service delivery and stronger institutional standards. His recent engagements have also focused on digital transformation in education, teacher capacity, inclusive access to quality education, and collaboration among government and key education stakeholders.

At this month’s IKORO, Dr. Ogugua will deliver the Keynote Address on:

“Examination Malpractice in Igboland: A Growing Menace, Declining Educational Standards, and the Hope for Change.”

Because the future of education demands more than examination success, it demands integrity, responsibility and a commitment to excellence.

Preparing for a Crucial Conversation on Education

Our team at Chimefula Research Centre paid a courtesy visit to the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ekene Oguguo, as part of our preparations for this month’s Ikoro gathering.

This month, Ikoro will focus on a pressing issue:

“Examination Malpractice in Igboland: A Growing Menace, Declining Educational Standards, and the Hope for Change.”

We believe that confronting examination malpractice requires honest dialogue and collective responsibility. We appreciate the Commissioner for receiving our team as we work towards a meaningful conversation on the future of education in our society.
