Yaw Boateng weaves a narrative in colors that are vivid and youthfully invigorating, touching on identity, the cosmic ritual of expectations, and hope. It carries a message of revealed warmth and renewal, using a profound visual lingua in color.

Yaw’s personal and collective experiences of life and living in Accra have a strong, indelible expression in these works. His multidisciplinary approach to materials and techniques is evidently felt in the rendering of his subjects. The floral adaptations, as a motif of visual language and a metaphor for the human experience, are reminiscent of Botticelli’s _The Birth of Venus_, where roses scattered in the air metaphorically allude to the emerging Venus as a full-grown and perfect being, flourishing and radiating with full potential. It is a poetic transposition of the origin of a superhuman in full bloom. 🌸🌸
