OPENING TODAY

GROUP EXHIBITION “For This Cause”

For This Cause is a group exhibition exploring memory, heritage, lineage and the quiet responsibility of carrying culture forward. Bringing together the works of five Nigerian artists: T**i Fagbemi, Ifeanyi Kalu, Chukwuemeka Anthony, Okenwa Chimaobi, and Femi Arogundade.

The exhibition reflects on what it means to preserve identity across generations through photography, film, painting, and architectural practice.

____________________________________________

Through deeply personal and collective narratives, the exhibition examines African identity not as a relic of the past, but as a living inheritance continuously shaped, protected, and passed on. Each artist approaches this conversation differently, yet together they create a powerful meditation on continuity, memory and belonging.

____________________________________________

Join us to experience this compelling exhibition and engage with works that honor the stories, rituals, and histories that continue to define us.

DIGITAL BENIN: A Curated Conversation

Yesterday, Kokopelli hosted the team for an evening that went into the difficult but necessary questions.
________________________________________________

5,285 objects. 138 institutions. 20 countries. One platform built on a single conviction: that Benin heritage deserves to be held on its own terms, named in its own language, interpreted through its own sources.
________________________________________________

What stood out was the scale of what’s been built, and the deliberateness. The decisions of the platform, from the Edo object designations to the exclusive use of Benin-authored historical sources, shows what digital infrastructure can do when it’s built with cultural responsibility rather than just access in mind.
________________________________________________

We closed the evening with a Q&A that the team handled with real depth.

Thank you to the team and everyone who came to the conversation.
