“Mbonu Christopher Emerem, a macro and micro Economist turned a macro and micro Artist. Emerem’s skills in the visual arts cut across the four dimensional medium to two dimensional medium. The message of his arts, though centered around the celebration of humanity, is portrayed through impressionism, to realism as well as surrealism. Emerem’s strokes on the canvas of time, apart from being epileptic strokes of an untrained hand, are imprints of a master on a familiar terrain.”

- Bolaji Okusaga, Art Producer and Presenter, Minaj Broadcasting International (MBI), 2001, in their 30-minute Documentary entitled: “In Solidarity with Humanity: A Celebration of the Arts of Mbonu Christopher Emerem,”
on the work and life of the artist, Sir Mbonu C. Emerem, in their international programme: ‘‘Arts&People’’.

“His, Mbonu Christopher Emerem’s, talent as an artist came to the fore in 1983 during his National Youth Service Corp Programme at Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina, Kaduna State, Nigeria, where he served as an educator teaching: Business Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Company Law and Business Law. That year was the turning point in the life of Mbonu Christopher Emerem.’’

“...Emerem brings such influences back to their natural origins, while showing his own sophisticated awareness of European modernism in his treatment of abstract form and composition. The cultural cross-fertilization provides for a fascinating dialogue, the visual equivalent of the rhythmic and melodic mergings in so-called World Music.”

- Stuart Leslie Meyers, Gallery&Studio Magazine, (The World of the Working Artist), New York, U.S.A., November-December 2003/January 2004, Vol. 6 No. 2, - Page: 19.

““Sometimes, the images created by Sir Mbonu Christopher Emerem are circumstantial, not bugged down by a determination to fit into a conceptual framework except as random comments on life and his perception of it as in “Precarious Visions,” “The Anatomy of the Female Power,” and “The Portrait of an Avaricious Upstart.””
