Younie Gallery started operation in 2009 and actively promoting Malaysian artworks ever since. Today, not only do we hold art exhibitions for both local Malaysian and foreign artists, but we also deal in old Chinese paintings, porcelain, ceramics and other Asian works of art.

Resting on a blue table set against a dark void, a bunch of golden bananas and two dragon fruits capture the charm and warmth of tropical living. It is a straightforward study of local fruit, yet quietly philosophical—a reminder that beauty doesn't require grand subjects, only a closer look at what is already around us.

Amy Lai Hung Yoong began her artistic training at an early age, studying across a range of traditional and contemporary practices. Her early education includes Chinese ink painting under the renowned Chinese ink master Chung Chen Sun, fine brushwork under Quag See Hoong, and watercolour under Shireen Lee and T. C. Liew.

Her work has been exhibited in Malaysia and internationally, including in the Philippines; Fukuoka, Japan; Incheon, South Korea; Taichung, Taiwan; and Qingdao and Youyu, China. Lai is currently a committee member of the Malaysia Art Society (PSM), and a member of the Negeri Sembilan Art Society, Cao Tang Men Eastern Arts Society, and the National Art Gallery.

摆放在蓝桌与深色背景间的艳红火龙果与金黄香蕉，洋溢着热带风情与生活气息。这既是一幅简单纯粹的日常静物画，也寄托着一份隐喻——美并不一定来自宏大的题材，有时只需停下来，重新发现身边寻常事物的美好。

黎杏容自幼接触艺术，长期研习不同艺术形式，曾师从大马水墨大师钟正山学习水墨画、工笔画家柯士鸿学习工笔，以及画家李雅迪与美术讲师刘挺壮学习水彩。

其作品曾于马来西亚及海外多个艺术展览与艺术节中展出，足迹遍及菲律宾、日本福冈、韩国仁川、台湾台中，以及中国青岛、右玉等地。

现为马来西亚艺术协会（PSM）委员，并为森美兰艺术协会、草堂门东方艺术协会及国家美术馆会员。

Chan Yoke Heng is a contemporary painter whose practice spans Chinese ink and oil painting. Having developed an interest in art from an early age, she later pursued formal training in Chinese ink landscape, flower-and-bird painting and oil painting.

Working in oil with a style reminiscent of Pointillism, Chan places vibrant colours side by side, allowing their contrasts to create a lively yet harmonious visual rhythm. Her paintings reflect a contemplative approach to life, where painting becomes a means of inner cultivation and emotional expression.

In 'Joyful', a weathered clay vessel meets the fresh, cheerful hues of starfruit, bringing memories of a brighter past to the surface. The traces of time, from dawn and dusk to the heat of the kiln, remain within the vessel’s glaze, suggesting how age can deepen rather than diminish beauty.

'Halcyon Day' turns towards the sea, where shimmering light offers a momentary release from the weight of everyday concerns. In the stillness of the scene, Chan reflects on the simple pleasure of being present — allowing time to pass without pursuit, and finding happiness in the quiet beauty of the moment.

陈玉卿自幼对绘画怀有浓厚兴趣。成年后，在生活逐渐安定之际，重新回归内心对艺术的召唤。

她的油画创作带有点彩主义的表现手法，将鲜明的色彩并置，在色彩的对比之间形成生动而和谐的视觉节奏。她的作品流露出对生活的沉静观照，亦将绘画视为一种内在修行与情感表达的方式。

第一幅作品《璀璨》中，古旧的陶罐遇上清爽可爱的杨桃，勾起了它也曾有过的璀璨岁月。沉淀在釉色里的晨昏与窑火，在杨桃的鲜丽映照下仿佛重新焕发光彩。时光虽留下痕迹，也让旧日的美好变得更加动人。

《岁月静好》中，波光粼粼的海面让辛劳与烦忧渐渐淡去，心中悄然升起一阵幸福与宁静。所谓幸福，不过是允许自己在这一刻停下来，不再追赶时间，也不再计算得失，只静静站在当下，让海风吹平眉头，让涛声放缓心跳。

Set in a Bintulu longhouse in Sarawak, the painting focuses on a small window amidst the darkness of night.

Inside, a mother is seen washing vegetables by the kitchen sink, quietly preparing dinner with a demure expression despite the mundane household chores.

Through this quiet scene, the artwork captures the enduring spirit of a mother—showing how, even through hardships and challenges, she continues to strive forward to bring light and comfort to her family.

Choong Hoi Li, born in Penang in 1973, is an art teacher and an active member of the Malaysia Art Society and KSP Penang Sketchers group. Over the years, she has participated in numerous sketching activities and urban sketching events across Malaysia and abroad, including Penang, Melaka, Sarawak and Ipoh in Malaysia; Huangshan, Xidi, Suzhou and Anhui in China; and Songkhla, Hat Yai and Bangkok in Thailand.

Passionate about art, travel, and cultural heritage, she enjoys exploring historic places and documenting their unique character through sketching. Her works reflect a deep appreciation for the world's diverse heritage, architecture, and cultures.

Choong showcased her works at the Buddhist Arts & Cultural Carnival, Kedah Buddhist Association, Alor Setar (2025); Penang Affordable Arts Exhibition, Straits Quay, Penang (2025); and the Yixian (Xidi & Hongcun) Watercolour Festival Invitational Exhibition of Watercolour Artists and Outdoor Plein Air Painting Event, Anhui Province, China (2026).

画作以砂拉越民都鲁的长屋为背景，聚焦于夜色中的一扇小窗。窗内，一位母亲正在厨房的水槽边洗菜，准备着今日的晚饭，神情温婉恬静。

这静谧的一幕，看似平凡寻常，却恰恰表现了温暖而伟大的母爱精神。面对繁琐乏味的家务，母亲总是以最朴实的姿态，稳稳地守护住一个家的日常。而无论面对怎样的艰难与挑战，母亲都始终选择努力前行，为家人带来光明与慰藉。

莊惠荔，1973年出生于槟城，现任美术教师，并为马来西亚艺术学会及 KSP Penang Sketchers 写生团体成员。多年来，她积极参与国内外各类写生活动，足迹遍及槟城、马六甲、砂拉越、怡保，以及中国黄山、西递、苏州、安徽等地；亦曾前往泰国宋卡、合艾及曼谷进行艺术交流与写生创作。

她热爱艺术、旅行与文化探索，尤其钟情于各地的历史遗产与人文风貌。通过速写与写生，她记录建筑之美、地方特色与文化故事，作品展现出她对世界文化遗产及多元文化的欣赏与热忱。她曾参与吉打《艺境共鸣・心汇卫塞》（2025）、槟城 Penang Affordable Arts Exhibition（2025），以及中国安徽省《中国黟县（宏村 - 西递）水彩艺术季》（2026）。

Within the unknown, cherish life;
lift your gaze to the sky, 🌠
and hold onto the courage within you
to keep seeking happiness. 💫

Eruan Loy’s practice is rooted in a lifelong sensitivity to colour, form and emotion. Her early training in graphic and fashion design developed a strong foundation in composition, rhythm, texture and balance, which has evolved into a more personal visual language shaped by intuition, feeling and the experiences of everyday life.

Her paintings often begin with emotion rather than a fixed image. Through colour and movement, Loy invites viewers to pause, feel and discover their own stories within the work. For her, art is a way of appreciating life—embracing what is present, welcoming what is still unfolding, and continuing to grow through the act of creation.

Loy’s recent exhibitions include the ‘Yixian (Xidi & Hongcun) Watercolour Festival Invitational Exhibition of Watercolour Artists’ in Anhui Province, China (2026); ‘Tiny Art Gala’, Kuala Lumpur (2025); and ‘The 18th International Art Awards Exhibition’ at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Japan (2025), where she received the Art Excellence Award.

黎艺鸾对色彩、形态与情感拥有与神俱来的细腻感知。早期平面设计与时装设计的训练，使她对构图、节奏、肌理与画面平衡形成了敏锐的把握；随着创作的深入，这些经验逐渐转化为更具个人特色的表达方式。她的绘画不拘泥于预设的形象，而是从当下的感受出发，以色彩和流动的笔触铺陈情绪，让画面保留开放的空间，邀请观者从中感受，并投射属于自己的故事。

对黎艺鸾而言，创作也是感受生活的过程：珍惜眼前，拥抱未知，并在不断创作之中持续探索与成长。近年展览包括于中国安徽举办的《中国黟县（宏村 - 西递）水彩艺术季》（2026）;吉隆坡《Tiny Art Gala》（2025）；及在日本东京都美术馆举行的《第18回国际艺术大赏展》，并于该展获艺术卓越奖。

Everlyne Tai is a Malaysian artist whose practice encompasses Chinese ink and acrylic painting. She graduated from the Malaysian Institute of Art in 1994 with a degree in Fine Arts, specialising in Chinese ink painting. She received the 5th Malaysia Young Contemporary Ink Painting Award in 1995. From 2011 to 2016, she served as Exhibition Curator at Pay Fong Art Gallery, Malacca, before establishing her practice as a full-time artist.

Her first solo exhibition was held at White Room Gallery, New Era University College, Selangor (2014), followed by solo exhibitions in Malacca in 2016 and 2019, and ‘Spring • March’ at The Landing, Malacca (2025). Recent group exhibitions include ‘Reflections of Nature’ in Xiamen, China (2025) and ‘Embracing Beauty · Myriad Artistic Expressions’ at Avantx Art, Penang (2026). Tai has served as President of the Malacca Art Association and Malacca Visual Art Association, and as Vice President of Nanyang Art Academy in Malacca.

戴蕾珍，马来西亚艺术家，创作以中国水墨及丙烯绘画为主。1994年毕业于马来西亚艺术学院纯美术系，主修中国水墨画；翌年获第五届马来西亚全国水墨画新人奖。2011年至2016年间，她于马六甲培风美术馆担任展览策展人，2016年起正式成为全职艺术工作者。

2014年，戴蕾珍于雪兰莪新纪元大学学院白色工坊举办首次个展，此后于马六甲举办数次个展，包括《春・三月》画展（2025）。近年来，她亦参与多项国内外联展，如2025年中国厦门《水映天地》及2026年槟城《寻美画境・万彩同辉》国际艺术交流展。戴蕾珍曾任马六甲古城艺术协会、马六甲视觉艺术协会会长，以及马六甲南洋画院副会长。

Through a flattened composition, the artist portrays a Nyonya woman seated in profile. Her deep olive skirt unfolds like leaves, paired with a deep blue kebaya edged in delicate white lace.

Her facial features are deliberately erased, leaving only her vivid, searching eyes, gazing into a quiet and shadowed Nanyang world. The words “Who Am I” emerge from the background like an echo of an old cultural memory, drawing her into a silent search for identity and belonging between tradition and self.

Born in 1981 in Taiping, Perak, Goh Siao Shan is a Malaysian full-time artist and art educator whose practice is deeply inspired by nature, light, colour and everyday life.

Working primarily in watercolour, acrylic and oil, his paintings explore the poetic relationship between light and atmosphere, transforming ordinary landscapes and moments of daily life into expressive visual experiences. Through colour and light, Goh seeks to transform ordinary moments into meaningful visual experiences.

With more than a decade of active participation in the Malaysian and international art scene, Goh has exhibited extensively across Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, China and other international platforms. His accolades include a Merit Award at the 1st IWS Singapore International Watercolour Exhibition & Competition (2021).

吴小山，1981年出生于霹雳州太平，是马来西亚全职艺术家及美术教育工作者。其创作深受自然、光线、色彩与日常生活启发，主要运用水彩、丙烯及油画创作，着眼于光线与氛围之间的诗意关系，将寻常的风景与生活片段转化为富有表现力的视觉体验。吴小山活跃于艺术领域逾十年，曾参与马来西亚、新加坡、韩国、日本、台湾、泰国、中国等地的艺术展览及国际交流活动。

重要展览包括2026年日本八户市立美术馆《ANBD Hachinohe Special Exhibition》、首届 IWS 新加坡国际水彩画展（2021），以及2017年中国《天色常蓝—青岛国际（春季）艺术沙龙展》。2018年于吉隆坡 The Refinery Art Gallery 举办首次个展。除个人创作外，吴小山亦积极参与美术教育及当代艺术活动，致力于推动本地艺术发展，并培育新一代艺术创作者。

Jane Tan Giok Tjeng was born in Bandung, Indonesia in 1947. She studied fine art for two years at the Chelsea School of Art in London, England. Having had extensive travelling to many countries, she has gained eye-opening experiences besides enriching her knowledge and inspiration.

Inspired by the simple subjects found in traditional Chinese paintings, Jane Tan combines bold brushwork with minimal composition to convey a vivid and realistic style, often with impressionistic touches.

In 2012, Jane Tan held her first solo show at Balai Berita, Kuala Lumpur. Her work has since been presented at leading institutions and galleries in Malaysia, including the National Art Gallery and Petronas Art Gallery, as well as in Singapore, China, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Japan and the United Kingdom.

In 2016, she won First Prize in the ‘Beautiful China in My Eyes 2016’ Year of Silk Road Tourism China Attraction Art Contest, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

陈玉珍1947年出生于印度尼西亚万隆，曾赴英国伦敦切尔西艺术学院修读两年纯美术。多年来，她游历各地，在丰富人生阅历的同时，也从不同地域与文化中汲取创作经验与灵感。

她的创作取材于传统中国画中质朴而寻常的题材，以大胆的笔触与简约的构图，呈现鲜明而写实的画面，并融入印象主义的表现手法。2012年，陈玉珍于吉隆坡新海峡时报大厦举办首次个展。此后，她的作品曾于马来西亚国家画廊、国家石油公司美术馆等重要艺术机构及画廊展出，并参与新加坡、中国、韩国、泰国、菲律宾、缅甸、日本及英国等地的艺术展览。

2016年，她于“我眼中的美丽中国—2016丝绸之路旅游年”中国旅游风光绘画比赛中获得一等奖。

Janet Teo has practised art for more than fifteen years, having studied Chinese ink painting under Puah Kim Hai, Yee Sze F**k and Cheah Thien Soong, and has more recently expanded her practice into acrylic painting.

Teo has participated in exhibitions and cultural exchange programmes in Malaysia and abroad, including ‘Art of the Year Competition’ held by Art Asia@KL, where she won the Entry Prize (2018); ‘Nanyang Touch’, Muar (2019); Wells Auction, Kuala Lumpur (2020); and the International Ink Painting Exhibition at the Xu Beihong Painting Academy, China (2021), where her work was acquired by the museum. In 2023, she participated in ‘Mood of Spring’ at the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

In 2022, Teo performed live painting at a Malaysian Chinese Cultural Association event, accompanied by world harmonica champion Mr Chong Ah Kow. The experience inspired her to continually explore the integration of music and visual art through themed performances and cultural activities, promoting and preserving Chinese cultural heritage.

张桂娃从事艺术创作逾十五年，早年师从潘金海、余斯福及谢忝宋等画家学习中国水墨，长期专注于传统笔墨与花卉创作。近年来，她亦探索丙烯媒介，拓展色彩与画面表现新的可能性。

她曾参与国内外多项艺术展览及艺术交流活动。2018年获《年度佳作》比赛水墨画组入围奖，该比赛与亚洲艺术@吉隆坡2018酒店艺术博览会同期举行；2019年参与《点染中化南洋风：草堂门金石书画会会员作品展》；2020年作品于吉隆坡 Wells Auction 拍卖会展出；2021年入选中国徐悲鸿画院美术馆国际水墨画展，作品获馆方收藏；2023年参与吉隆坡中国文化中心《春风劲草》南洋年画展。

近年来，她通过《琴画传韵》等活动推动中华艺术文化的传承与传播，并于2022年参与现场挥毫创作牡丹画筹款活动，由国际口琴冠军张雅诰伴奏。

As time moves on,
many things slowly fade into the past.
Art, however, continues to leave its mark —
carried forward through generations of artists,
collectors and those who choose to keep it alive.

In Malaysia,
art may not always stand in the spotlight,
yet there have always been those who continue to create,
to support,
and in their own way,
to keep this passion alive.

‘Beyond Echoes’ brings together works by members of the Malaysia Art Society,
from established artists to emerging voices.
Their backgrounds, techniques and artistic languages may differ,
but they share a common devotion to art
and the determination to keep creating.

The exhibition also reaches beyond Malaysia,
bringing together contemporary works from across Asia.
Different cultures, techniques and perspectives meet within the same space,
allowing us to experience the many ways
art continues to unfold across the region.

The echoes of art
do not exist only on the canvas.
They live on through every act of creating,
every moment of looking,
and every exchange between artist and audience.

We warmly invite you to visit ‘Beyond Echoes’ —
to listen, to discover,
and to witness the echoes of art
