#1: There will be no cursing on this page – ever . It includes any statement that the page admin deems inappropriate in nature.

#2: This page is for the promotion of Sue Meng Heritage's work in

sustainable development through cultural, heritage and responsible tourism programmes. Our initiatives are focused around Dr. Sun Yat Sen and His Comrades in Ipoh. The journey counts as much as the destination; and we want to move forward together with those who share our values.

#3: All opinions will be treated with mutual respect, unless they violate the aforementioned rules. Treat your fellow Facebook users with that same respect.

#4: If a single individual starts a discussion that all other individuals disagree with, it may, at the discretion of the page admin, be considered trolling. Trolls will be blocked from this page.

#5: If a user personally attacks another user with words that are harmful, threatening or not in-line with our mutual respect policy, that member will receive a warning. Three warnings and you’re out.

#6: Please stick to the mission statement of this page. Irrelevant content does not belong here.

#7: Do not post graphic or disturbing photos, videos and other media on this page. If you are not sure about the content that you want to comment, email us at [email protected]

#8: If someone mentions you by name please respond directly to that person on the same post. If the comment is inflammatory please report it to the page admin.

#9: Think before you post! This is Facebook, one of the biggest sites on the internet – what goes up may never really come down. Do respect the privacy of others.

#10: Be aware that posting more than 5 discussions on the same day needs to be justified to the group admin, or it will be considered spam.

#11: It is considered impolite to repost or draw attention to the fact that a page admin or another member has deleted your comment.

#12: If you are going to comment, we would prefer it if you could try and add valuable discussion to the conversation. Be friendly, be fair and use common sense.

#13: The page admin is entitled to deny comments or boot out users that don’t comply with the house rules.

#14: For any specific inquiries please refer to the website address and email above. This is just the page, not the business itself.

#15: When you share attachments in our Facebook group please make sure that your settings are on ‘public’ or no-one will be able to see your attachment. We would like to thank you for your cooperation and we hope we can have engaging conversations while abiding to these community engagement rules.

On 7 July 2026, we planted a tamarind tree sapling along the banks of the Kinta River in Ipoh. This was no ordinary sapling—it was propagated from the historic tamarind tree planted by Dr. Sun Yat Sen 143 years ago at the Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Former Residence in Zhongshan, Guangdong.

Generously donated by The Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the Sun Yat-sen Cultural Foundation, the sapling embarked on a remarkable journey. Carefully packed in Zhongshan, it was flown to Penang before continuing by road to Ipoh as a meaningful gift for the future Sun Yat Sen Perak Museum: Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Development, dedicated to the people of Ipoh.

The tree-planting ceremony was officiated by Ms. Alexandra Sun, the great grandniece of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, together with leaders and members of Ipoh's business and heritage communities. In time, this tamarind tree will become another significant landmark along the Trail of Dr. Sun Yat Sen and His Comrades in Ipoh.

The ceremony formed part of a series of commemorative events organised by Sue Meng Heritage in collaboration with The Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the Sun Yat-sen Cultural Foundation to mark the 160th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat Sen's birth. These events also included the blessing ceremony for the future Sun Yat Sen Perak Museum: Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Development.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Kai Lek Tan for his meticulous attention to every detail in making this momentous event a memorable success.

May this ceremony symbolise Dr. Sun's enduring legacy, inspiring future generations while reminding us of our shared responsibility to care for the environment for the benefit of all.

孙中山霹雳博物馆将设于霹雳海南会馆隔壁的26号店屋,总面积约4400平方尺,并盼于明年落成。由于孙中山当年到访怡保时曾下榻于该店屋,因此深具意义。
