One small moment from our exhibition has stayed with me.

On the wall were two artworks by Logan. The painting above showed a landscape beneath the Northern Lights; below it was a painting of a tree.

Our young artist, Albie, stood in front of them for quite a while before saying:

“That’s amazing. The Northern Lights are shining onto the tree below.”

Of course, in reality, the Northern Lights were not shining onto the tree.

But at that moment, I wondered if she had seen something that many adults might miss.

As adults, we often look at artworks in terms of technique, composition, or subject matter. Children, however, often respond to the relationships they sense between things.

To Albie, these were no longer two separate paintings. They had become a single moment: light from the sky reaching down to a tree on the earth.

Perhaps one of the most valuable things about art education is not simply learning how to draw.

It is preserving the ability to see the world with curiosity, imagination, and a sense of connection.

🥳THROUGH THEIR EYES🥳

🥳Student Art Exhibition 2026🥳

Every work begins with a child noticing something.

A colour, a shadow, a shape, a memory, or a feeling.

Over the past year, our students have spent countless hours observing, imagining, experimenting, and creating. This exhibition brings together a selection of their works — each reflecting a unique way of seeing and responding to the world.

Through Their Eyes is not a competition, nor a presentation of perfection. It is a celebration of observation, imagination, personal expression, and artistic growth.

The exhibition opens on 7 June 2026 and will remain on display throughout June.

Visits during the exhibition period are available by appointment.

We warmly invite students, families, and friends to spend some time with the artworks and experience the world through the eyes of our young artists.

《Through Their Eyes》

《Through Their Eyes》

Some of the most meaningful moments in teaching
do not come from trophies or competition results.

They come quietly —
through a simple reflection from a parent:

“I could see how much heart my child put into the work.
To me, that already means more than winning.”

At Atelier Esprit Libre,
we have always believed that art education is not only about the final image.

It is about learning to observe, to feel, to stay engaged,
and gradually finding the courage to express oneself.

When a child’s work begins to carry imagination, rhythm, movement and personal meaning,
something deeper has already started to grow.

And we are grateful to the parents
who are able to notice these small inner changes.
Because children flourish differently
when they feel truly seen and understood.

We don’t see art as a training of talent,
but as a way of thinking that can be practiced.

Here, children learn how to observe, make chooses,
and take responsibility for their creative decisions.

The Intentionality Behind the Art

Atelier Esprit Libre is not a studio
built around numbers.

What matters to us is whether a child
is suited to this way of learning,
and whether the classroom
can truly function as a whole.

Our programme is moving
into deeper territory.
Before a child enters,
we take time to see
whether this depth and rhythm
are right for them.

That is why new enrolments
begin with an assessment.

Children who continue learning here
are part of a system
where growth is taken seriously,
not rushed,
and not taken lightly.

To be considered with care
is, perhaps,
the most honest form of respect
we can offer a child.
