Una obra se elige también por aquello que es capaz de provocar.

En el trabajo de Aythamy Armas, el dibujo adquiere una dimensión propia. La línea se repite, se cruza y se intensifica; el gesto deja de ser únicamente trazo para convertirse en ritmo, densidad y materia.

Nuestra colaboración con Aythamy nace de conocer de cerca ese lenguaje y entender las decisiones que construyen su obra. Esa cercanía permite a Galería Kaya realizar selecciones con mayor precisión, atendiendo no solo a la pieza, sino también a la arquitectura, las proporciones y el carácter particular de cada proyecto.

En esta ocasión elegimos una obra cuya fuerza se percibe desde la distancia y cuya complejidad aparece al acercarse. Una pieza que conserva la espontaneidad del gesto y, al mismo tiempo, posee la claridad necesaria para ocupar su lugar con absoluta naturalidad.

Ese es el trabajo de Kaya: mirar, comprender y elegir con intención.

Some works seem to think out loud. In the world of Román de Castro, painting and poetry intertwine to shape a language of its own—free from rules and open to the imagination.

Color and words act as impulses within the same narrative. Spontaneous strokes, unexpected forms, and poetic fragments emerge across the canvas like thoughts taking shape, creating scenes charged with energy, sensitivity, nostalgia, and humor.

The collaboration between Galería Kaya and Román de Castro stems from a shared fascination with the intuitive and the unconventional, with art’s ability to surprise, spark curiosity, and lead the eye toward places we have yet to imagine.

Espacio con intención y curaduría 💥 gracias Mariana Rivera por ser parte de KAYA ~ Color as a starting point for building a relationship between artwork, space, and architecture.

At Galería Kaya, each curatorial project begins with a thoughtful understanding of the space. In collaboration with Celeste, we develop custom-made pieces in which scale, composition, and color palette are specifically defined for the space they will inhabit.

In this piece, shades of red, terracotta, pink, burgundy, and orange overlap through geometric forms, transparencies, and contrasts. Color takes on an architectural presence: creating depth, transforming the perception of the space, and establishing a balance between the artwork and the materials that surround it.

Celeste is an artistic duo formed by María Fernanda Camarena and Gabriel Rosas Alemán (Guadalajara, 1988; Mexico City, 1983). Their practice emerges from dialogue and collaboration, exploring the balance between two distinct perspectives through a shared gestural language. Their compositions move between polarity and attraction, turning painting into a space for encounter, negotiation, and intimacy.

Our collaboration with Luis Rodrigo Medina reflects this vision. Born in Guadalajara in 1973, Medina began his artistic training at an early age, developing a practice that spans painting, sculpture, drawing, watercolor, and printmaking. His trajectory has been shaped by studies in Mexico and travels across Europe and Africa, resulting in a visual language deeply rooted in observation and his personal interpretation of reality.

At Kaya, each collaboration goes beyond selecting a work of art. It is about discovering meaningful artistic trajectories, recognizing authentic voices, and connecting collectors with works of lasting significance.

Accidental Mirror

A puddle in the street can capture the sky, reflect the trees, and transform the landscape. For a brief moment, it becomes an accidental mirror where the world seems to reorganize itself.

The reflected image is not the world itself, but an ephemeral apparition: it shimmers, shifts, and disappears with the slightest disturbance. The reflection is a temporal threshold—a fleeting moment in which reality seems to open a second space within itself before dissolving.

As part of Galería Kaya’s curatorial vision, this series creates a dialogue between art, architecture, and interior design. In collaboration with the Ernesto de Miguel showroom, the works are presented within a setting where each piece reshapes the atmosphere of the space, revealing how art can transform the way we inhabit and perceive our surroundings.
