PATHS OF AWAKENING :: With

This workshop series is designed to introduce you to a rich variety of meditation practices — along with a framework for understanding how to practice in ways that align with your own goals and temperament.

Our first workshop dives into Vipassana, or Insight Meditation. We’ll begin by exploring different perspectives on awakening — how various teachers across traditions describe the ultimate goal of enlightenment, and the strategies they’ve offered for reaching it.

From there, we’ll move into Shamatha or calm abiding, the foundational ground of all meditation practice. And then explore the heart of Vipassana: including the factors for awakening and emphasis on how to gain insight into what’s called the Three Characteristics: the nature of suffering, impermanence, and no-self.

We will explore pragmatic practices as taught by several modern masters, working with both body and mind.

You’ll come away with a rich understanding of what Insight meditation is and various ways to practice, from beginner to advanced.
