Felipe recently completed a special restoration project for a local couple…a large 48” x 48” Huichol yarn artwork that had suffered serious damage after years in a beachside home.
This was delicate, conservation-minded work. The goal was not to change the artwork, but to stabilize it, protect it, and honor the original piece. Felipe repaired and reinforced the damaged back, built a custom Parota wood support frame, preserved the writing on the reverse side, and added spacers so the glass protects the artwork without pressing directly against the yarn and beeswax surface.
The project required patience, restraint, careful problem-solving, and deep respect for the original artist’s work.
The clients were thrilled to take the finished piece home, ready to hang again — and we were honored to help bring this beautiful artwork back to life.
