Għar Dalam Cave and Museum

Thank you Nature Trust - FEE Malta!

We introduced two water bowls to help local wildlife such as hedgehogs, chameleons, shrews, weasels, snakes and other animals during the dry summer months at Għar Dalam Cave and Museum The water bowls are filled regularly.

There are several water bowls in public spaces, if you are interested in helping to refill a water station, or if you would like to place water bowls in your private garden or field, please email [email protected] 🙏

There are a number of sites that have recieved permission to place a bowl but do not yet have volunteers to refill the bowls, so if you are interested in volunteering with this please do get in touch. In particular we need help in Mellieha, Bormla, Mgarr, Chadwick Lakes (Mtarfa side) and Wied Ghollieqa.

If you are lucky enough to spot wildlife drinking from the water bowls and manage to take a photo or video, please feel free to send it to Nature Trust, or you can post it on social media with the hashtag and tag our social media pages!

Bħalissa qed ninstallaw tabelli botaniċi mas-siġar, arbuxelli u pjanti oħra tagħna sabiex intejbu l-esperjenza tal-viżitaturi. Il-kollezzjoni tagħna tinkludi firxa diversa ta’ speċi indiġeni u endemiċi, li ħafna minnhom huma limitati għaż-żona kostali tal-Mediterran. Permezz ta’ dawn it-tabelli, il-viżitaturi jistgħu jitgħallmu aktar dwar il-flora unika li tikkaratterizza l-ekosistemi Mediterranji u dwar l-importanza tal-konservazzjoni ta’ dan il-wirt botaniku għani.

We are currently installing botanical labels on our trees, shrubs, and other plants to enhance the visitor experience. Our collection includes a diverse range of indigenous and endemic species, many of which are restricted to the Mediterranean littoral region. Through these labels, visitors can learn more about the unique flora that characterizes Mediterranean ecosystems and the importance of conserving this rich botanical heritage.
