Phi Phi, born in 2000 Yangon-Based Contemporary Artist.

We are incredibly excited to feature Phi Phi in our digital spotlight series, The SV Watchlist! 🎨✨

Phi Phi’s artistic practice is one of constant, thoughtful evolution. After initially exploring structural tension through steel-based installations under the mentorship of Aye Ko, she transitioned into deeply introspective figurative painting. Guided by her own self-examination and mentorship from artists Kaung Su and Phyo Nyi, her current work explores the quiet complexities of human existence, internal conflict, and the shifting nature of identity.

Her recent solo exhibition, MORPH, dives into how our lives are conditioned by larger systemic and cultural forces. Beyond her studio, she is deeply embedded in our local community, exhibiting in major shows like River of Echoes and dedicating her time to teaching children at the New Zero Village Art School in Hmawbi.
