À l’occasion de l’annonce de la lauréate du Fondation Jardin Majorelle Prize 2026, M. Madison Cox, Président de la Fondation Jardin Majorelle, revient sur l’ambition de cette initiative dédiée au soutien de la jeune scène architecturale marocaine et sur la création du second Pavillon Temporaire de la Villa Oasis.

Cette édition du FJMP a réuni une nouvelle génération d’architectes dont les propositions ont exploré les liens entre patrimoine, paysage, matériaux, mémoire et architecture contemporaine, en dialogue avec l’univers singulier du Jardin Majorelle et de la Villa Oasis.

Toutes nos félicitations à la lauréate Mme. Salsabil El Ouazzani pour son projet Nouala, the Moving Shelter, ainsi qu’à l’ensemble des candidats pour la qualité et la richesse de leurs propositions.

Upon announcing the winners of the 2026 Fondation Jardin Majorelle Prize (FJMP), Mr. Madison Cox, the foundation’s president, reflected on the competition’s mission to support emerging Moroccan architects through the design and building of the second Temporary Pavilion at the Villa Oasis.

This second edition of the FJMP brought together a new generation of architects whose proposals explored the links between heritage, landscape, materials, memory and contemporary architecture, as well as their integration within the unique world of the Jardin Majorelle and Villa Oasis.

Congratulations to the winner, Ms. Salsabil El Ouazzani, for her project “Nouala, the Moving Shelter,” and to all the candidates for the quality and brilliance of their proposals.

[FJMP 2026]

Le 15 mai 2026, la Fondation Jardin Majorelle a annoncé les lauréats de la deuxième édition du « Fondation Jardin Majorelle Prize » (FJMP), consacré cette année au projet du Pavillon Temporaire de la Villa Oasis.

Le prix a été attribué à Salsabil El Ouazzani pour son projet « Nouala, the moving shelter », distingué pour son choix des matériaux, son intégration au Jardin Majorelle, sa justesse et sa faisabilité.

✨ Une mention spéciale a également été décernée à El Mehdi Belyassmine pour son projet « Phyllocode ».

Cette édition a réuni 34 candidatures issues des grandes écoles d’architecture marocaines, témoignant du dynamisme de la jeune scène architecturale nationale.

Le jury, présidé par Madison Cox, réunissait Hiba Bensalek, Karl Fournier (Studio KO), Salima Naji et Alexis Sornin. Il a salué des propositions créatives, durables et sensibles à l’esprit du Jardin Majorelle.

👏 Le jury félicite également les six finalistes pour la qualité remarquable de leurs projets et leur vision contemporaine de l’architecture.

On May 15, 2026, the Fondation Jardin Majorelle announced the winners of the second Fondation Jardin Majorelle Prize (FJMP) to design the next Temporary Pavilion at the Villa Oasis.

The prize was awarded to Salsabil El Ouazzani for her project, “Nouala, the Moving Shelter,” which was recognized for its choice of materials, its integration into the Jardin Majorelle, its coherence and its feasibility.

✨ In addition, the jury awarded a special mention to El Mehdi Belyassmine for his project “Phyllocode.”

This edition generated extraordinary enthusiasm among young Moroccan architects, graduates of the Kingdom’s most prestigious architecture schools. More than 34 applications were received.

The jury, chaired by Madison Cox, included Hiba Bensalek, Karl Fournier (Studio KO), Salima Naji and Alexis Sornin.

👏 The jury also congratulates the six finalists for the remarkable quality of their proposals and for their contemporary architectural vision.

During Hospitality Celebration Week, the Jardin Majorelle and the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech had the pleasure of welcoming students from the Vatel Hotel and Tourism Business School in Marrakech.

It was a great opportunity to discuss—at a garden and museum dedicated to art, history and cultural transmission—the challenges facing the hospitality sector today, as well as the promotion of cultural heritage and the need to optimize visitor experience.

It was an enriching moment of sharing and discovery, during which future professionals in the hospitality field were better able to understand the key relationship between culture, tourism and excellence.

In the heart of the ochre city, where an urban hustle and bustle gives way to contemplation, the Jardin Majorelle unveils a new exhibition at the Temporary Pavilion of the Villa Oasis.

"Birds of the Jardin Majorelle" celebrates a wonderful encounter between nature and culture through a discovery of the garden's rich avifauna. The combined perspectives of experts Raphaël Musseau and Khadija Oumasskour show us how the Jardin Majorelle has become a precious ecosystem and a sanctuary for Moroccan birdlife in the heart of the city.

Visiting the Temporary Pavilion becomes an invitation to slow down and observe the extraordinary that's found at the heart of nature, and to discover the fragile balance of this living heritage, preserved by the Jardin Majorelle's sustainable practices.

Nous avons eu le plaisir d'accueillir au Jardin Majorelle les étudiant.e.s de l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), accompagnés de leur professeure, la Dr. Salima Naji.

Plus qu’une simple visite, cette rencontre a été l'occasion d'un échange profond sur la notion de "Care" (le soin quotidien) et la gestion de la longue durée. Nos équipes ont partagé avec ces futurs architectes les défis de la préservation d'un patrimoine vivant : de la compréhension fine du paysage à la gestion précieuse de l'eau, jusqu'à l'importance de la couleur dans un ensemble complexe.

Un grand merci à ce groupe passionné pour leur curiosité indélébile et leur vision de l’architecture comme un véritable écosystème.

We had the pleasure of welcoming to the Jardin Majorelle students from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), accompanied by their professor, Dr. Salima Naji.

More than just a visit, the meeting provided an opportunity for an in-depth exchange on the concept of "Care" (ongoing, daily care) and long-term management. Our teams shared with these future architects the challenges of preserving a living heritage: from a nuanced understanding of the landscape to the crucial management of water, as well as the importance of color within a complex whole.

Our heartfelt thanks to this passionate and curious group for sharing their vision of architecture as part of a vibrant ecosystem.
