Story of our art

We are family owned and managed for over 20 years. Our gallery is a symbol of independence and art combined.

During Latvia’s occupation many forms of art were restricted out of fear it could be used to promote ideas of independence. Many artists worked in secret and faced various obstacles. Once Latvia regained independence our gallery was one of the first to open and contributed to the development of art in Latvia.

We have helped launch the careers of many Latvian artist and promote the works of both well known and up-and-coming artists. In addition to the gallery’s every day work, for 20 years we have organized “Painting of the Year (In Latvian - Gada Glezna)” to promote original paintings of a given year. Up to this day we help develop and promote the field of art in Latvia by participating in international expo’s and projects.

We specialize in glass art and paintings. Our gallery also serves as a glass art workshop where not only do artist create their own pieces, but visitors have the option to participate in the experience and create their own glass art. Here imagination is your only limit and everyone has the chance to be an artist and create a one of a kind piece.
