MMCA ශ්රී ලංකා සමඟ එක්ව ජයිපූර් කලා මධ්යස්ථානය විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ‘Artists' Cinema / Artist's Cinema’ ගිම්හාන චිත්රපට වැඩසටහනේදී ‘is this an architectural documentary?’ (2023) නරඹන්න!

ඉරුෂි තෙන්නකෝන් (උ.1989), සුමේධ කැලේගම (උ.1988), සහ සුමුදු අතුකෝරළ (උ.1980) විසින් කළ මෙම සජීවිකෘත වාර්තා චිත්රපටය, ශ්රී ලංකාවේ පළමු සමාජ නිවාස ව්යාපෘතිවලින් එකක් වන මිනෙට් ද සිල්වාගේ (1918–1998) වටපුළුව නිවාස යෝජනා ක්රමය (1958) කේන්ද්ර කරගෙන නිර්මාණය වී ඇත. ද සිල්වාගේ ‘The Life and Work of an Asian Woman Architect Vol. 1’ (1998) නම් ග්රන්ථයේ ප්රකාශිත, එම යෝජනා ක්රමය පිළිබඳ ඇගේ ම ලේඛන හා වාර්තා භාවිත කරමින් මෙම චිත්රපටය එහි තවමත් පවතින දෑ පිළිබඳව අධ්යනය කරන අතර, එය ඉදිකර වසර 65කට පසුව එම යෝජනා ක්රමය අවබෝධ කර ගැනීමට උත්සාහ කරයි.
ඩිජිටල්මය නව සහයෝගීතා ක්රම සංවර්ධනය කිරීමට එක්සත් රාජධානියේ සහ අනෙකුත් රටවල සංස්කෘතික සහයෝගීතාවන්ට සහය ලබා දෙන බ්රිතාන්ය කවුන්සිලයේ ඩිජිටල් සහයෝගීතා අරමුදල විසින් මෙම සජීවිකෘත වාර්තා චිත්රපටයට සහය ලබා දෙන ලදී. වාර්තා චිත්රපටය සඳහා පර්යේෂණ සහ සංවර්ධනය සහය ලබා දෙන ලද්දේ එක්සත් රාජධානියේ Forensic Architecture ආයතනය විසිනි.

Created by Irushi Tennakoon (b.1989), Sumedha Kelegama (b.1988), and Sumudu Athukorala (b.1980), this animated documentary focuses on Minnette De Silva’s (1918–1998) Watapuluwa Housing Scheme (1958), one of Sri Lanka’s first social housing projects. Using De Silva’s own writings and documentation of the Scheme, as published in her book ‘The Life and Work of an Asian Woman Architect Vol. 1’ (1998), the film looks at what is left in situ and attempts to understand the Scheme 65 years after it was built.
This animated documentary was supported by the British Council Digital Collaboration Fund, which supports UK and overseas cultural partnerships to develop digitally innovative ways of collaborating. Commissioned by the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Sri Lanka with Research and Development support provided by Forensic Architecture, UK.

இருஷி தென்னகோன் (பிறப்பு.1989), சுமேத கெலேகம (பிறப்பு.1988) மற்றும் சுமுது அத்துகோரல (பிறப்பு.1980) ஆகியோரால் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட இந்த அசைவூட்டப்பட்ட ஆவணப்படம், இலங்கையின் ஆரம்பகால சமூக வீட்டுவசதித் திட்டங்களில் ஒன்றான, மினெட் டி சில்வாவின் (1918–1998) வட்டபுழுவ வீட்டுவசதித் திட்டம் (1958) குறித்துக் கவனம் செலுத்துகிறது. மினெட் டி சில்வா எழுதிய ‘The Life and Work of an Asian Woman Architect Vol. 1’ (1998) புத்தகத்தில் பிரசுரிக்கப்பட்ட அவரது சொந்தக் குறிப்புகள் மற்றும் ஆவணங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இத்திரைப்படம், அந்த இடத்தில் (in situ) தற்போது எஞ்சியிருப்பவற்றை உற்றுநோக்குவதுடன், இத்திட்டம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு 65 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு அதன் தற்போதைய நிலையைப் புரிந்துகொள்ளவும் முயல்கிறது.
ஐக்கிய இராச்சியத்திலும் வெளிநாடுகளிலும் கணனிமய கூட்டுமுயற்சிப் புதிய வழிகளை உருவாக்கும் கலாச்சாரக் கூட்டுகளுக்கு ஆதரவளிக்கும் பிரிட்டிஷ் கௌன்சில் கணனிக் கூட்டுமுயற்சி நிதியத்தின் உதவியுடன் இந்த அனிமேற்றட் ஆவணம் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டது. இதற்கான ஆய்வு மற்றும் உருவாக்கத்திற்கு உதவி வழங்கியவர்கள் ஐக்கிய இராச்சியத்தின் தடயவியல் கட்டடமைப்பு.
