기이한 꽃과 가시덩굴이 뒤엉킨 ‘언더월드’ 속, 늑대와 소년의 묘한 공존을 그린 두 작품이다.
거대하고 날카로운 발톱으로 소년을 조심스레 떠받친 늑대의 모습과, 반대로 늑대의 머리를 감싸 안은 채 가만히 응시하는 소년의 모습이 강렬한 대비를 이룬다. 관람자는 이 대조적인 두 장면을 통해 ‘위협’과 ‘보호’라는 모순적인 감정을 동시에 마주하게 된다. 어쩌면 이는 잔혹해 보이는 환경에 적응해 가던 소년이, 결국 스스로 늑대가 되어가는 내면의 변화 과정을 보여주는 것일지도 모른다.

These two works depict the strange coexistence of a wolf and a boy within the "Underworld," a realm tangled with bizarre flowers and thorny vines.
A striking contrast is drawn between the wolf carefully cradling the boy with its massive, sharp claws, and the boy, conversely, holding the wolf’s head while staring back. Through these contrasting scenes, the viewer simultaneously experiences the contradictory emotions of threat and protection. Ultimately, this narrative may portray the internal transformation of the boy who, having adapted to a seemingly cruel environment, is gradually becoming the wolf himself.

낯선 곳에서 눈을 뜬 소년은 자신이 누구인지, 왜 이곳에 오게 되었는지 기억하지 못한다. 그가 마주한 세계는 차갑고 불친절하다. 기이한 생명체들이 가득한 숲은 이방인을 환영하지 않으며, 친절한 얼굴 뒤에는 숨겨진 위협이 도사리고 있다. 흑백으로 뒤덮인 풍경 속에서 소년은 곧 깨닫는다. 이곳에서는 누구도 자신을 지켜주지 않는다는 것을.

살아남기 위해 그는 스스로 강해지기로 결심한다. 자신보다 약한 존재를 제압하고, 더 강한 존재와 맞서며 이 세계의 최상위 포식자가 되고자 한다. 그러나 생존을 향한 본능은 그에게 힘을 주는 동시에 따뜻한 감정과 순수한 마음을 조금씩 앗아간다.

A boy awakens in an unfamiliar place with no memory of who he is or how he arrived there. The world before him is cold and unwelcoming. Filled with strange creatures and unknown forms of life, the forest offers little comfort to outsiders. Beneath seemingly friendly faces lurk hidden threats, and within this monochrome landscape, the boy soon realizes a simple truth: no one is coming to protect him.

To survive, he decides to become stronger. He learns to overpower weaker beings and challenge those more powerful than himself, determined to rise as the apex predator of this world. Yet survival comes at a cost. As his instincts sharpen, fragments of warmth, innocence, and compassion gradually fade away.

Residual Forms: The Place of Absence explores the sensation of presence that becomes most vivid through absence. Using stones as a medium, the artist reflects on the traces of memory and the weight of existence left behind. The exhibition is both an act of mourning and a tribute to presences that never entirely disappear.
