Founded in 2010 and located in the Jean Nouvel-designed Galleria Foret, the gallery expanded in 2022 with a second space, ATELIER AKI P2, within the same complex. Over the years, ATELIER AKI has showcased works by next-generation Korean artists at international art fairs such as Art Miami, London Art Fair, Art 021, Art Central Hong Kong, Art Jakarta, and KIAF, in addition to curating collaborative projects with Kakao and launching a collaborative project with Salvator Ferragamo. 권능 개인전 《일상의 계절학: 여름 가을 겨울 봄》이 글로벌 아트 플랫폼 #아트시()의 Galleries 메인 페이지와 Viewing Rooms ‘Featured’ 섹션에 동시 소개되었습니다.
이번 Featured 선정을 통해 권능은 아트시 메인 화면에 국내 작가로는 유일하게 이름을 올렸습니다. 이는 권능의 작업과 이번 전시가 국제 미술계의 관심 속에서 새롭게 조명되고 있음을 보여주는 동시에, 글로벌 아트 신에서의 입지를 한층 공고히 하는 계기가 되었습니다.

Kwon Neung‘s solo exhibition, 《A Seasonal Study of the Everyday: Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring》, currently on view at ATELIER AKI, has been featured on the Galleries homepage and Featured Viewing Rooms section of the global art platform Artsy.

During the campaign period, Kwon Neung is the only Korean artist featured on Artsy’s homepage, marking a meaningful opportunity to introduce his work to Artsy‘s global audience. The feature reflects growing international recognition of both the artist’s practice and the exhibition, marking another meaningful step in strengthening his presence on the global contemporary art stage.

“The figures in these works do not tell a specific narrative. Instead, they share the same season and atmosphere.
When I look at old paintings, I often feel as though time dissolves. There is something both uncanny and deeply natural in the way images from centuries ago can exist alongside the quiet scenery of our evenings today.
Perhaps painting is not about preserving a single moment in time, but about creating a space where different moments can dwell together at once.

작품 속 인물들은 특정한 서사를 설명하지 않는다. 대신 같은 계절과 공기를 공유한다.
나는 오래된 그림들을 바라볼 때 종종 시간이 사라진다고 느낀다.
수백 년 전의 이미지가 지금 우리의 저녁 풍경과 함께 존재할 수 있다는 사실은 이상하면서도 자연스럽다.
어쩌면 그림은 시간을 기록하는 것이 아니라, 서로 다른 시간들이 동시에 머무를 수 있는 장소를 만드는 일에 가까운지도 모른다.“
