“흔들린다는 것은 흐름을 거슬러 떠도는 상태와 같아요.” – 김윤수
작가 김윤수는 비닐과 골판지처럼 가볍고 유연한 재료를 오랜 시간 자르고, 감고, 쌓으며 조각의 형태를 만들어왔습니다. 반복되는 손길을 거치는 동안 처음의 형태는 조금씩 변형되고 새로운 부피와 밀도를 갖게 됩니다. 이번 전시에서는 2000년대 초반의 〈바람(투명한 사유에 관한 조각)〉 작업부터 여러 해에 걸쳐 이어온 〈바람의 표면〉까지 함께 선보입니다.
빠르게 흘러가는 일상에서 잠시 비켜서 보는 것, 보이지 않아도 존재하는 것들에 관해 생각하는 것. 작가는 이를 자신만의 방향을 찾아가는 태도라고 말합니다. 김윤수 작가의 인터뷰 풀영상은 포도뮤지엄 유튜브 채널에서 만나보실 수 있습니다.

Kim Yunsoo has long worked with lightweight, flexible materials such as PVC and corrugated cardboard, cutting, winding, and layering them into sculptural forms. Through repeated gestures, their original shapes gradually shift, taking on new volume and density. In this exhibition, works ranging from the early-2000s 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥 (𝘈 𝘚𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘱𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺) to 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴, developed over several years, are presented together.
Stepping aside for a moment from the fast pace of everyday life, and thinking about what exists even when it cannot be seen. Kim describes this as an attitude of finding one’s own direction.
