Since opening last summer, 𝑾𝒆, 𝑺𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 has welcomed many visitors. Today, we’re sharing a selection of the reflections they left behind.

우고 론디노네의 〈the sun III〉을 지나 언덕을 따라가다 보면 포도뮤지엄 산책로를 마주하게 됩니다. 제주 현무암과 갈대가 어우러진 길을 걸으며 제주의 바람과 자연을 가까이에서 느껴보세요. 계절마다 새롭게 피어나는 식물들도 만나볼 수 있습니다.

산책로 끝에 자리한 포도호텔에서 《우리 이토록 작은 존재들》 전시를 모티프로 한 '우이작' 세트를 선보이고 있습니다. 제주 식재료를 활용한 메뉴와 테마공간 〈우리는 별의 먼지다〉에서 영감을 받은 팝핑 아이스크림 디저트로 구성된 스페셜 메뉴로, 전시의 여운을 또 다른 방식으로 즐길 수 있습니다.

Take a stroll along the PODO Museum walking trail. 🐾

After passing Ugo Rondinone’s 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘯 𝘐𝘐𝘐 and following the path up the hill, you’ll come across the PODO Museum walking trail. With Jeju volcanic stones and reeds along the way, the trail invites you to feel the island’s breeze and natural surroundings up close. You can also discover different seasonal plants from season to season.

At the end of the trail, PODO Hotel offers a special menu inspired by the exhibition 𝑾𝒆, 𝑺𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔. Made with local Jeju ingredients and featuring a popping ice cream dessert inspired by the thematic space 𝙒𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙊𝙛 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙛𝙛, the set offers another way to enjoy the lingering impressions of the exhibition.

🖼️ 소나무 숲으로 향하는 문 옆, 박진아 작가의 〈그림을 바라보는 셋〉을 만나보실 수 있습니다. 작가는 일상의 장면을 사진으로 기록한 뒤 회화로 재구성하며, 시간과 시선이 겹쳐지는 순간을 포착하는 작업을 선보여 왔습니다. 작품 속 인물들이 하나의 그림을 바라보는 모습이 마치 북라운지에서 책과 작품을 마주하는 우리의 시선과도 자연스럽게 이어집니다.

SUPERFLEX is a Danish artist collective founded in 1993 that addresses contemporary issues including systems of capital and energy, the climate crisis, communities, and social structures. Rather than presenting art as something to be passively viewed, the group creates projects and installations that people can use and participate in. Through their work, SUPERFLEX explores economic structures, ideas of public space, ownership, and sharing, translating the systems that shape society into artistic form.

Installed in the pine forest at PODO Museum, 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘛𝘸𝘰 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘚𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨! is a large-scale installation composed of zigzagging orange structures and swings designed for three people to ride together. As participants respond to one another and adjust their pace, small actions gradually build into larger shared motions, while each person’s rhythm moves across the connected structure and influences those around them. Through this system, SUPERFLEX invites visitors to engage with the collective energy created through collaboration and interaction.

Using the familiar form of a playground swing, the work naturally reveals how one person’s action can affect another. Moving through the pine forest, experience the energy and collaboration that emerge through collective movement.

김홍석은 조각, 설치, 퍼포먼스, 비디오 등 다양한 매체를 넘나들며 예술과 사회 안에 존재하는 익숙한 질서와 가치 체계를 질문해 온 작가입니다. 그는 미술 작품의 독창성, 윤리적 충돌 등의 문제에 관심을 갖고, 이를 다양한 형식과 내용으로 재해석해 사회의 모순과 소통의 한계를 드러내고자 합니다. 완결된 조각의 형태보다 그 안에 숨겨진 노동과 제작 과정, 예술을 둘러싼 제도와 규칙을 드러내며 익숙한 사물과 구조 사이의 균열을 만들어냅니다.

야외 공연장에서 만나볼 수 있는 〈기울고 과장된 형태에 대한 연구-LOVE〉는 값싼 포장지와 매트리스를 연상시키는 형태를 레진으로 정교하게 재현한 대형 설치 작품입니다. 실제 사물처럼 보이지만 단단한 조각으로 제작된 이 작업은 익숙한 사물과 조각의 경계를 흔들며, 예술 작품이 소비되고 받아들여지는 방식에 질문을 던집니다.

〈곰 같은 형태〉는 거리에 쌓여 있는 쓰레기봉지 더미가 우연히 곰과 같은 형태로 보인 순간을 담은 작품입니다. 작가는 포장재나 비닐봉투처럼 쉽게 지나칠 수 있는 재료에 주목하며, 작품과 부자재를 구분하는 미술의 위계 구조를 뒤집습니다. 길거리의 쓰레기 봉투처럼 보이는 익숙한 형태는 조각으로 고정되며 전혀 다른 존재감을 드러내고, 관람객은 일상 속 사물과 가치의 기준을 다시 바라보게 됩니다.

두 작품은 우리가 당연하게 받아들여 온 사물의 형태와 의미가 어떤 맥락 안에서 달라질 수 있는지를 보여줍니다. 야외 공간 곳곳에 놓인 작품을 따라가며, 익숙한 사물과 형태가 새로운 의미로 다가오는 순간을 마주해 보세요.

Gimhongsok works across sculpture, installation, performance, and video to question the systems and values shaping art and society. His work explores artistic originality and ethical tension, revealing contradictions behind labor, production, and communication.

At the outdoor performance venue, *A Study on Slanted and Hyperbolic Constitution–LOVE* recreates forms reminiscent of inexpensive wrapping paper and mattresses in resin. Though it appears ordinary, it is in fact a solid sculpture that blurs the boundary between object and artwork.

*Bearlike Construction-629* captures the moment when a pile of garbage bags resembled a bear. By focusing on overlooked materials such as packaging and plastic bags, the artist overturns the hierarchy between artwork and subsidiary materials.

Together, the two works show how familiar objects can shift in meaning depending on context. As you walk through the outdoor space, notice how ordinary forms begin to take on different meanings.

우고 론디노네는 태양, 달, 돌, 나무와 같은 자연의 원형적 이미지를 조각, 회화, 설치 등 다양한 매체로 옮겨오는 작업을 지속해 왔습니다. 거대한 자연 앞에서 인간이 느끼는 경외와 사색의 감각을 상징적인 형태와 강렬한 색채로 풀어내며, 일상의 풍경을 명상적 상징으로 전환합니다.

포도뮤지엄 야외 잔디마당에 설치된 〈the sun III〉은 나뭇가지가 원형으로 엮인 형태를 청동으로 주조하고 금박을 입힌 대형 설치 작품입니다. 살아있던 나뭇가지를 청동으로 주조해 태양의 형태로 엮어낸 이 작업에서, 작가는 흐르는 자연의 시간을 한 자리에 머무르게 합니다. 태양을 닮은 둥근 구조는 하나의 빛나는 표식처럼 존재하며, 바라보는 시선에 따라 주변 풍경을 감싸거나 통과시키는 프레임처럼 보이기도 합니다.

야외에 놓인 이 작품은 햇빛, 바람, 계절의 변화 속에서 끊임없이 다른 표정을 드러냅니다. 작품 앞에 서서 금빛 표면 위로 떨어지는 햇빛, 둥근 원 안쪽으로 들어오는 풍경, 그리고 그 사이 흘러가는 시간을 천천히 마주해 보세요.

For decades, Ugo Rondinone has transformed elemental forms from nature — suns, moons, stones, and trees — into sculptures, paintings, and immersive installations that evoke quiet contemplation and wonder. Through vivid color and symbolic form, his works invite viewers into a meditative landscape where nature and emotion gently converge.

Installed on the outdoor lawn of PODO Museum, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘯 𝘐𝘐𝘐 is a monumental sculpture created from cast tree branches finished in gilded bronze, unfolding into the radiant form of a sun. Suspended between sculpture and landscape, the circular structure acts as both a luminous marker and a shifting frame through which the surrounding scenery is continually reimagined.

Exposed to sunlight, wind, and the changing seasons, the work reveals a different presence throughout the day. Stand before the sculpture and take in the light settling across its golden surface, the scenery framed within its circle, and the quiet passage of time moving gently between them.
