뉴질랜드 참전용사 후손 Kevin Everitt··· 6·25전쟁 관련 부친 소장품 등 기증 🇳🇿
6·25전쟁 당시 뉴질랜드 육군 파병부대 케이포스(Kayforce) 소속 치위생병으로 참전했던 故 레즐리 에버릿 참전용사의 아들 케빈 에버릿씨가 기념관을 찾아 부친이 남긴 6·25전쟁 당시 사진과 참전 증서, 베레모, 계급 패치, 훈장 리본을 기증해 주셨습니다.
또한 수십년간 뉴질랜드에서 6·25전쟁을 연구해 온 민간 연구자로서, 뉴질랜드군 참전 관련 현지 출판 도서와 교육 자료도 함께 전해주셨습니다.
참전용사였던 아버지의 기록을 바탕으로
그들의 경험을 복원하고 기억을 이어온 아들—
케빈 에버릿 씨는 현재 참전용사와 유가족을 위한 커뮤니티를 운영하며 케이포스 참전용사들의 기억을 보존하는 활동을 이어가고 있습니다.
전쟁의 기억을 남긴 아버지와,
그 기억을 이어가는 아들.
그들의 이야기가 이제 기념관에서 계속됩니다.

Mr. Kevin Everitt, son of Leslie Everitt, who served as a dental hygienist with Kayforce, the New Zealand Army contingent during the Korean War, visited the United Nations Peace Memorial and participated in the “Collecting the Belongings of Korean War Veterans” campaign.
In order to more widely share the dedication of his father and fellow New Zealand veterans, Mr. Everitt donated his father’s Korean War-era photographs, a certificate of service (replica), a beret, rank patches, and medal ribbons. In addition, as a civilian researcher who has studied the Korean War in New Zealand for over 20 years, he also donated five items including locally published books and educational materials related to New Zealand’s participation in the war.
To express its deep appreciation for this meaningful contribution, the Memorial held a donation ceremony, during which a certificate of donation and a letter of appreciation were presented. This was followed by an induction ceremony at the Hall of Fame, where the Memorial honors the names of donors.
