The Choeung Ek Genocidal Center served as a primary ex*****on site for Security Prison 21 (S-21). Today, it preserves vital historical evidence from the Khmer Rouge era, including mass graves, human remains, and the clothing of the victims.
The center welcomes national and international visitors, offering them an opportunity to comprehend the tragic realities of the Democratic Kampuchea regime (1975-1979).
After their visit, many individuals leave heartfelt messages on the "Reflection Board." These notes convey profound sorrow, shock, and empathy, alongside deepest condolences for the victims. Ultimately, these reflections transcend the past, serving as a powerful reminder and a crucial historical lesson for the world regarding the atrocities committed here.
Note: Choeung Ek Genocidal Center is open for both national and international visitors every day, including national holidays starting from 07:30 am until 05:30 pm. Thank you.
