▋『画像生成が見る夢』
2007年頃からインターネット上の膨大な画像を収集・再構築し続けてきた梅沢和木による個展形式の展示。
会場では、約20年にわたり蓄積された作品や画像生成のログを高速なスライドショーとして上映し、新作を含む平面作品とともに展開します。
生成AIの登場によって「画像生成」が日常化した現在、梅沢は約20年前から、画像を見続け、保存し、再構築する営みを続けてきました。本企画では、その膨大なログと作品群を通して、一人の人間が時間をかけて画像を生成し続けてきたことの意味を問います。そこに宿る物語、記憶と執着のなかにこそ、画像を生成し、夢を見る意識があるのではないか。その問いとともに、創造のプロセスを見つめ直す展示です。
This solo presentation features the work of Kazuki Umezawa, who has been continuously collecting and reconstructing vast quantities of images from the internet since around 2007.
The exhibition space will showcase two-dimensional works, including new pieces, alongside a high-speed slideshow projecting logs of image generation and accumulated artworks spanning nearly two decades.
Today, the advent of generative AI has made "image generation" an everyday phenomenon. Yet, Umezawa has been immersed in the practice of incessantly observing, saving, and reconstructing images for roughly twenty years. Through his immense archive of logs and body of work, this project questions the significance of a single human being dedicating such profound time to continuously generating images.
Is it not precisely within the narratives, memories, and obsessions residing in this process that the consciousness to generate images and to dream truly exists? Guided by this inquiry, the exhibition invites viewers to fundamentally re-examine the creative process.
