1990年、西村陽一郎（当時20代前半）と自身の出展作品。「PARCO GALLERY PRESENTS: 20 promising photographers VOL.2」会場での記念写真です。
中央に展示されているのが、1989年の写真作品「小惑星」です。宇宙空間に浮かぶ天体のように見えますが、実際には水を写した写真です。
現在に至るまで続く西村の視線の原点を示す作品です。
この写真から36年後の今年、2026年6月4日から、みんなのギャラリーで始まる西村陽一郎個展で本作を再び展示いたします。
ごく身近な対象の中に潜む、小さくも決定的な世界の姿を、ぜひ会場でご覧ください。

In 1990, Yoichiro Nishimura, then in his early twenties, pictured alongside the works he exhibited at “PARCO GALLERY PRESENTS: 20 Promising Photographers VOL.2.”
Exhibited at the center is Asteroid (1989).
At first glance, it appears to depict a celestial body floating in outer space, but it is actually a photograph of water. The work already reveals the origin of Nishimura’s vision, which continues through to the present day.
Thirty-six years after this exhibition, Asteroid will be exhibited again in Yoichiro Nishimura’s solo exhibition opening at Minnano Gallery on June 4, 2026.
A small yet decisive world hidden within the most familiar surroundings.
