Jinny Street Gallery is in the heart of Jingumae 2-chōme (神宮前二丁目), commonly known as “Jinni” (神二) by the locals.

Whiff outside the city hustle, with its little showcases scattered through all the streets. Jinny is for stroll lovers that do not care much about the destination but the joy of the process. Jinny is for urban flâneurs who take time to love the city in all its shapes and colors. Home to all who do not feel like going anywhere but to walk and enjoy our exhibitions.

✨ 4/18 Friends of Jinny Opening Event Recap ✨

A few weeks ago, we celebrated the opening of our current exhibition, Friends of Jinny.

The evening featured a panel talk with several of the participating artists, who flew to Japan to join the conversation. After the talk, we all walked through Jinny together to experience the exhibition as a group.

It was a fun and lively night, with many people coming out to celebrate. Sharing a few photos here to recap some special moments!

数週間前、現在開催中の展覧会「Friends of Jinny」のオープニングイベントを開催しました。

当日は、参加アーティストの中から日本に来てくれた方々にも加わっていただき、トークイベントを実施しました。トーク後には、皆さんで一緒に会場を巡りながら展示を楽しみました。

CITY WALK / create your own map

Through the simple act of walking in the city, we bring awareness to the shapes and structures we usually perceive unconsciously.

By breaking them down into fundamental forms—circles, triangles, and squares—we begin to see the city in an entirely new way.

By reconstructing these elements, we will create our own “inner map”—translating external landscapes into personal, internal expressions.

🧩What you will experience:

🚶 Walk & explore the surrounding area, documenting impressions through photos, sketches, or collected fragments

✂️ Using collage techniques, transform your observations into a personal “emotional map”

💡 Optional group sharing to deepen engagement and connection

✨ Facilitator: Wenfei will guide the whole session, helping you tap into your creativity and discover new ways of seeing.

CITY WALK / 自分だけの地図を描こう

何気なく街を歩く中で、私たちは無意識にその形や構造を受け止めています。

このワークショップでは、それらを「円」「三角形」「四角」という基本の形に分解してみることで、街をまったく新しい視点で見つめ直します。

それらの要素を再構成しながら、外部の風景を自分自身の内側にある表現へと変換し、
「心の中の地図」を参加者それぞれが描き出していきます。

🧩内容:

🚶 周辺を歩きながら探索し、写真・スケッチ・集めた断片などで印象を記録

✂️ コラージュ技法を使って、観察したものを自分だけの「感情地図」に変換

💡 希望者によるグループ共有で、より深い対話と繋がりを体験

✨ ファシリテーター: Wenfei がセッション全体をガイドし、参加者の皆さんの創造性を引き出し、新しい見方を発見するお手伝いをします。

✨ Friends of Jinny Mystery Sticker Pack ✨

A small pack, a bit of chance, and stories from our Jinny neighborhood.

Each pack includes 6–7 stickers, randomly selected from 33 designs (with 5 possible sets). Sizes and materials vary—everything is chosen by the artists themselves. Even the packaging is part of it: the cover is a sticker, and the pack is designed by our friend

Inside, you’ll find stickers featuring details from artworks currently on view in the “Friends of Jinny” project, which started here in Jingumae 2-chome. If you’re new here, it’s a project where 40 local residents and 40 illustrators from around the world are paired up—like pen pals. They exchange stories and turn them into artworks.

The exhibition is still running at Jinny Street Gallery—feel free to drop by.

These artworks live out on the street, woven into everyday life.
This sticker pack lets you take a few of those stories home with you.

You won’t know what you get until you open it.

✨ Friends of Jinny ミステリーステッカーパック ✨

ちょっとした運試しと、神宮前の小さなストーリーをぎゅっと詰めたステッカーパックです。

1パックにステッカーが6〜7枚入りで、全33種類の中からランダムで封入（全5パターン）。サイズや素材もいろいろで、すべてアーティストがセレクトしています。パッケージも作品の一部で、表紙はステッカー仕様。デザインは友人のが担当してくれました。

中には、「Friends of Jinny」プロジェクトで展示中の作品ディテールを使ったステッカーが入っています。このプロジェクトは神宮前2丁目からスタートして、地元の人40人と世界中のイラストレーター40人がペアになり、まるでペンパルみたいにやりとりしながら作品を作っていく取り組みです。

展示は今もJinny Street Galleryで開催中。ふらっと見に来てもらえたら嬉しいです。

作品は街の中にあって、日常に溶け込んでいます。
このステッカーパックは、その一部をお持ち帰りいただけるものです。

Jinny is clean and ready for the upcoming exhibition! ✨

Last week, we gathered to clean the Jinny cases together. Lhe weather was warm, sunny, and absolutely perfect for a day outdoors. Thank you so much to everyone who came out early on Sunday (early ahah) morning!

Now, “Friends of Jinny” is off to a great start 💫

From time to time, it needs some tender loving care—and a nice bath! So we thought about turning this regular duty into a moment to come together with the community (and help each other, haha).

🕙 Time: 10:00 AM
💰 Participation: Of course free (coffee is on us!)

Schedule:
10:00 – Meet up at NININI-NI (cleaning materials will be provided!)
10:00–11:00 – Cleaning time
11:00 – Coffee together at NININI-NI ☕

We will open the cases for you. Please note:
• We will focus on cleaning the inside and outside of the cases (not the poles themselves).

✨ “Friends of Jinny” | New exhibition at Jinny Street Gallery

40 illustrators worldwide meet 40 community members at Jinny, connected like pen pals, sharing stories across distance.

Join the opening event at ninini-ni on April 18th.

Jinny Street Gallery is an open air space on the street of Jingumae, living and evolving alongside the people who live here and those who pass through the neighborhood every day. Each person carries a different story, a different background.

For this exhibition, we paired artists from around the world—selected through an online open call, with residents of Jingumae 2-chome, like pen pals. They never met in person, but exchanged words, sharing fragments of their lives from afar. Through these conversations, each artist interpreted a real story into illustration.

The exhibition is presented in the streets, where art and everyday life exist side by side. There’s no clear beginning or end—just a walk, a discovery, and a connection.

世界中の40名のイラストレーターが、ジニーの地域住民40名とペンパルのように繋がり、距離を超えて物語を共有します。
オープニングイベントは 4月18日に ninini-ni で開催。

ジニー・ストリート・ギャラリーは、神宮前の街に根ざし、住む人々や通り過ぎる人々とともに日々変化しながら存在する空間です。そこにはそれぞれ異なる背景や物語があります。

本展では、オンラインオープンコールで選ばれた世界中のアーティストと神宮前2丁目の住民をペアにしました。直接会うことはありませんでしたが、言葉を交わしながらお互いの生活の断片を共有。アーティストはその物語をイラストに変換しました。

展覧会は街中で開催され、日常とアートが自然に共存する空間になっています。始まりも終わりも決まっていません——歩きながら、発見し、つながる体験です。

✨The #11 post in our Jinny Doodles series is here! With 🌇✨

This time we’re featuring Daniel Labrosse, a self-taught Hungarian-French painter, illustrator, and animator based in Budapest.

His work mixes bold colors with expressive, cartoon-like forms, creating surreal worlds that feel playful but still very human. His characters often reflect everyday life, small routines and all the details that make people who they are, while still being part of a bigger community!

For this Jinny Doodles piece, Daniel reimagines our gallery at sunset. As the light changes, the space starts to feel a bit dreamlike, and new creatures slowly appear.

We love how the characters in the second doodle seem to speak different languages — just like us at Jinny!

We’re really happy to welcome Daniel into the Jinny universe 🌆

Hopefully he can visit Jinny one day soon in Shibuya! ✨

🚀 神ニ落書きシリーズ 11：Daniel Labrosse

今回は、ブダペストを拠点に活動するハンガリー系フランス人の独学アーティスト、Daniel Labrosseさんをご紹介します。

彼の作品は、大胆な色使いと表情豊かなカートゥーンのようなフォルムが特徴で、遊び心がありながらもどこか人間らしさを感じさせるシュールな世界を描いています。日常のささやかな習慣やちょっとした癖など、一人ひとりの個性に目を向けながら、同時に大きなコミュニティの一部であることも表現しています。

今回の作品では、夕暮れのギャラリーを新しい視点で描いてくれました。光が変わるにつれて空間は少しずつ夢のような雰囲気になり、不思議な生き物たちが現れ、人々の間を行き交います。

特に印象的なのは、2枚目の作品でキャラクターたちがそれぞれ違う言語を話しているように見えるところです。まるでJinnyのように、多様な人たちが自然に混ざり合っている感じが伝わってきます。

Jinnyの世界にDanielさんを迎えられてとても嬉しいです 🌆
