Our Midosuji Small Works Exhibition
Entrance Requirement List
“Osaka Midosuji Art” began in 2015 and will mark its 11th edition in 2026. This event features art installations at office buildings, temples, and shrines along Midosuji Avenue, providing the public with an accessible and engaging encounter with art.
Held concurrently with “Osaka Midosuji Art 2026”, this contest invites submission of small-scale artworks themed around Osaka, Midosuji, and Nakanoshima.
Selected works will be exhibited at Osaka City Hall. A few of the displayed pieces will also receive awards based on jury evaluation and public voting.
Awards: Prizes, including the Mayor’s Award and corporate-sponsored awards, will be announced on the official website at a later date.
Selections will be made through both audience voting and jury evaluation.
The award-winning works will be exhibited at the Award Recipients Exhibition to be held at gallery Ryo at a later date.
Prizes for each award will be presented at the award ceremony held during the Award Recipients Exhibition.

Submission requirements:
Artwork requirements:
Two-dimensional works themed around “Osaka”, “Midosuji”, and “Nakanoshima”
*Nakanoshima refers to a river island located between the Dojima River and the Tosabori River, extending 3 kilometers from east to west with a total area of 50 hectares.
Size of works:
Maximum dimensions including frame: 230mm x 300mm, with a depth of up to 100mm
Frame:
Frame is allowed. Works will be hung using hooks, so please ensure a string is attached to the back of the frame.
For works on drawing paper or panels, please understand that pins or clips may be used, which could result in holes or marks.
Works that fall under the following categories will not be accepted for submission:
- Works that violate public order or standards of decency
- Three-dimensional works
- Works that emit odors
- Perishable items
- Works that emit unpleasant sounds, generate excessive heat, or produce smoke or v***r
- Works deemed by the Art Executive Committee to pose harm to others or cause significant disruption
