齋木三男
1975年群馬県中之条町生まれ。18歳から新潟の石彫家、故加藤亮氏に弟子入り。5年間の丁稚奉公の後帰郷。伝統的な手彫りを基本に、石仏からモニュメントまで制作する傍ら、様々な展覧会や芸術祭に作品を出品。 2005年中之条の霊山嵩山(たけやま)観音像群を約2年にわたり修復。 中之条ビエンナーレ 2015・19・25実行委員長。昨年急逝した新潟の石工漆山昌志の後を受け、角田山妙光寺の境内に28体の菩薩像を設置する「菩薩の森」プロジェクトの造像を手がける。2026年Little Buddhasがニューヨークのイサム・ノグチミュージアムのセレクトショップで取り扱われることが決まった。

Mitsuo Saiki
Born in 1975 in Nakanojo Town, Gunma Prefecture. At the age of 18, Saiki became an apprentice to the late Ryo Kato, a stone sculptor in Niigata. He returned to his hometown five years later. While creating works ranging from stone Buddhas to monuments based on traditional hand-carving techniques, he also showed his work at exhibitions and art festivals. In 2005, he spent approximately two years restoring the group of Kannon statues at Mount Takeyama, a sacred mountain in Nakanojo. He served as Executive Committee Chair for the Nakanojo Biennial in 2015, 2019, and 2025. Following the sudden passing last year of Niigata stonemason Masashi Urushiyama, he is overseeing the creation of statues for a project to install 28 Bodhisattva statues on the grounds of Myokoji Temple on Mount Kakuda.
