Irie Taikichi was where the photograper lived after Word War Ⅱ until his death.The house is located in Suimoncho, formerly a part of the Todaiji Temple precincts. Old Japanese houses generally have rice paper screen doors,tea ceremony rooms,and tatami (grass mats) culturally including this house. Tatami mats are made from rushes and smell good! The aroma of Tatami mats gives a relaxing effects. The aroma of rushes relaxes you as soon as you enter a Japanese house. Please feel free to take pictures at your leisure,and relax as if you are at home.
