画廊の役割

　評価されていない若手作家からすでに評価された作家の中で、日本の文化の現代における基本形を表現する美術を制作している作家を選び、その作品を国内外へ販売する過程を通じて、日本文化の深い理解と新たな発見および将来の展開に寄与したいと考えています。
　ここで、日本の文化の基本形とは、外来文化や思想を自分自身の中に取り入れることによって自分自身が変容してゆく「構造のようなもの」です。

☁️ 雲は、心のゆらぎの投影

永岡かずみさんの作品に繰り返し現れる「雲」のモチーフ。
形を変えながら移ろい続ける雲の姿に、彼女は儚さと永続性を同時に見出します。 そこに顔が重なり合うことで、雲は感情を帯びた存在へと変化し、風景でありながら物語を宿します。

テラコッタの質感と、雲が浮かぶような軽やかさ——。 相反するようでいて、不思議と溶け合う世界がそこにあります。

会期は6月21日（日）まで。まだご覧になっていない方はぜひ。

☁️ The motif of clouds appears again and again in the work of Kazumi Nagaoka.

In clouds that continuously shift and change form, she finds both fragility and permanence at once. As faces emerge and overlap within them, the clouds transform into presences charged with emotion — at once landscape and story.

The texture of terracotta, and the weightless drift of floating clouds——. Seemingly at odds, yet the two dissolve into one another in a world that feels, somehow, entirely whole.
The exhibition runs through Sunday, June 21. If you haven't had a chance to visit, we hope to see you soon.

Earth and paper. Two worlds born from entirely different materials meet in a single space for this exhibition.

📦 作家紹介｜杉浦麻里子

1981年兵庫県生まれ。京都精華大学芸術学部卒業。
ダンボール、クラフト紙——役割を終えた瞬間に「不要」とされる素材たち。 杉浦さんはそれらを拾い上げ、切り、重ね、折り、曲げることで、新たな形と価値を与えていきます。

ダンボールのレコード、クラフト紙のブーツ、ランプ……。 再構成された空間には、誰かの暮らしの温度が静かに宿ります。

「使い終えた素材が再び『日常』をかたちづくるとき、その風景にはもう一度、人の暮らしの温度が宿る」——杉浦麻里子

📦 Artist Profile | Mariko Sugiura

Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1981. Graduated from the Faculty of Art at Kyoto Seika University.
Cardboard, kraft paper——materials deemed worthless the moment their purpose is spent. Sugiura gathers them up, cutting, layering, folding, and bending them into new forms and new value.

Records made of cardboard, boots crafted from kraft paper, a lamp…… In the reconstructed space, the warmth of someone's daily life quietly takes up residence.

土を積み上げ、削り、点描し、こする——。 その手の動きは、土の呼吸を感じながら自分の内側へと向かう時間へと変わっていくといいます。

雲のモチーフを通して「儚さ」と「永続性」を同時に問いかける彼女の作品。 近年は一つの作品に複数の人格が現れはじめ、現実世界ともう一つの世界をつなぐ造形へと深化しています。

本展のテーマは「つながる」。 新作と過去作品が並ぶ会場で、時間の連続性を感じてみてください。

🌿 Artist Profile | Kazumi Nagaoka

Born in Okayama Prefecture. Has been creating terracotta sculpture since around 2000.
Building up clay, carving, stippling, rubbing——. She describes how these hand movements gradually become a time of turning inward, feeling the breath of the earth itself.

Through the motif of clouds, her work poses simultaneous questions about impermanence and permanence. In recent years, multiple presences have begun to emerge within a single piece, as her work deepens toward sculptures that bridge the real world and another world beyond.

The theme of this exhibition is "Connection." Among new and past works displayed together, we invite you to sense the continuity of time.
