monade contemporary では、稲垣智子の過去作品と、10年以上続くライフワークの映像を上映します。
いくつもの扉を開き歩み続ける道の途中で立ち止まり、自分と似て非なる誰かと言葉を交わし、いつかの記憶の輪郭をなぞる。
併設カフェみずうみでは、その水面に面影をのぞむ飲みものと、記憶の地層に眠る言葉のクッキーをお出しします。

稲垣智子
兵庫県在住。ミドルセックス大学美術学部卒業。大阪大学大学院アート・メディア論修士課程修了。国内外でアーティスト・イン・レジデンスに参加し、制作を展開してきた。作品は、自己と他者、生と死、自然と人工、現実と虚構といった境界が揺らぐ瞬間を扱う。主に映像インスタレーションを用い、パフォーマンスや鏡、時間性を伴うメディアによって、反復のなかで像の輪郭がずれ、現実がいつのまにか別の相貌へと移り変わっていく境界を浮かび上がらせててきた。
主な展覧会に、OAG Art Center Kobe（神戸/2025）、川久ミュージアム（和歌/2022）、MAWA（ウィニペグ、カナダ/2022）、The Third Gallery Aya（大阪/2024）、CAS（大阪/2021）、カサブランカ・ビエンナーレ（モロッコ/2017）、WROUGHT（シェフィールド、英国/2016）、FRISE（ハンブルク、ドイツ/2016）、京都市美術館（京都/2013）など。

monade contemporary is happy to present a screening of selected works by Tomoko Inagaki, together with a moving-image work from her long-term project that has continued for more than a decade.

Along the path of opening one door after another, we pause for a moment, and exchange words with someone who resembles us yet remains another, tracing the contours of memories from another time.

At Cafe the LAKE to Eat Words in a Book, visitors can enjoy drinks that reflect the traces of Omokage | Passage upon the water’s surface, accompanied by cookies inscribed with words resting in the geological layers of memory.

Tomoko Inagaki, Project Doors, 2013–

Tomoko Inagaki
Based in Hyōgo, Japan. BA in Fine Art, Middlesex University. MA in Art and Media Studies, Osaka University. She has developed her practice through artist residencies both in Japan and abroad. Her work engages with the trembling boundaries between self and other, life and death, nature and artifice, reality and fiction. Working primarily with video installation—alongside performance, mirrors, and media that unfold through time—she has let these boundaries surface: the contours of an image shifting through repetition, reality quietly transforming into another likeness.

FOOL’s GAZE | くずおのへや
ピメリコ・奈良平華子 展

古代より薬、繊維、食材として重宝される一方、現代ではしばしば厄介な雑草として扱われる植物、葛（くず）。その処遇の変遷は、時代とともに移り変わる人の暮らしと価値観を映す鏡でもあります。

植物である葛自身に、人間の暮らしを侵そうとする意志はありません。ただ、現在の環境がその生育条件に合っているために、いつのまにか生態系の強者となっているに過ぎないのです。里山として管理されていた頃は人の暮らしの内側にありながら、手を離れれば境界などおかまいなしに越えていく。特定の立場をもたず、ただエネルギーを放ち続けるその在り方は、古くから神話や物語に登場する、常識の外側に立つ存在「FOOL（愚者）」の姿とも重なります。

奈良平華子は、葛のDNA配列を編み図に変換し、葛の繊維そのものを編み込むと同時に、「くず」という言葉から連想されるくずかごなど、日常にあるかたちへと表現を広げます。

ピメリコは、葛の繊維＝葛苧（くずお）から生まれたキャラクター「くずお」を、同じDNA配列をもとにした楽曲にあわせて踊らせます。映像にも登場する立体作品「FOOL」の視線は、グルっと動いたかと思えば止まり、また気まぐれに動き出します。

編み、踊り、漂う視線、それぞれのやり方で葛に触れる二人の作家。もし葛にもまなざしがあるとすれば、それは優劣や意味づけの外側から投げかけられるものかもしれません。永遠に交わらないかもしれない人間と植物の視線を、「くずおのへや」として空間に展開します。

ピメリコ
神奈川県在住の現代美術作家。システムエンジニアとしてIT企業に勤務したのち、渡英。ロンドン大学ゴールドスミス・カレッジ（BA）、およびチェルシー・カレッジ・オブ・アーツ（MA）にてファインアートを学ぶ。人間、自然、そして目に見えない力が交差する劇場として現実を捉え直すような、映像インスタレーションを制作。葛のリサーチプロジェクトのほか、タロットや占星術など象徴言語の探求・実践も行っている。アーティスト・ラン・スペース「Waves Project」主宰（神奈川県湯河原町）。

奈良平華子

FOOL’s GAZE | Kuzuo’s room
Pimeriko & Hanako Narahira Exhibition

Kuzu has been highly valued since ancient times for its medicinal properties, fibers, and as a food source. Yet today, it is often treated as a troublesome w**d. This shift acts as a mirror, reflecting changing human lifestyles and values across generations.

The plant itself has no intention of invading human life; it has simply dominated the ecosystem because current conditions suit its growth. Once contained within human life through satoyama (traditional village landscapes) management, it now oversteps those boundaries naturally the moment human care is withdrawn.
Free from any particular role and charged with pure life force, it reminds us of the archetype of the "FOOL," the entity standing outside conventional order in myths and stories since time immemorial.

Hanako Narahira translates the DNA sequence of Kuzu into knitting patterns, incorporating the actual plant fibers while expanding her expression into everyday forms, such as the kuzukago (trash bin) conjured by the word "kuzu."
Pimeriko brings to life "Kuzuo," a character born from Kuzu fibers (kuzuo), making it dance to music based on that same DNA sequence. The eyeballs of the sculptural work "FOOL," which also appears in the video, spin, pause, and drift again in unexpectedly whimsical movements.

The two artists approach Kuzu through knitting, dancing, and a drifting gaze. If Kuzu itself possesses a gaze, it might be one cast from somewhere beyond human values and meaning-making. Within "Kuzuo's room," they unfold the perspectives of humans and plants, presenting two lines of sight that may never truly intersect.

日本で生まれ育ち、現在は海外を拠点に活動する3人のアーティストが、絵画、立体作品、写真を通じて、色彩を用いた空間的な視覚表現を披露します。彼らの作品は、日本の文化的感性と、長年の海外生活や経験によって培われた深い印象の両方を喚起します。それぞれの作品には相違点と共通点が共存していますが、それらが相互に作用することで、まるで呼吸しているかのような空間的な調和が生まれています。

小灘明子
大阪生まれの小灘は、画家であった父の影響を受け、幼い頃から絵画や彫刻に興味を抱いていました。金沢で彫刻を学んだ後、オーストラリア、インド、アフリカで生活し、2022年にパリへ定住しました。近年の制作活動では、平面作品やテキストを基にした作品の制作に焦点を当てています。

樋口陽子
人やその営みに惹かれ、世界各地を旅しながら、出会った人々の日常を撮影してきました。現在はイスラエルにて日本語教師としても活動しており、言葉を通じた新たな出会いにも関心を広げています。2020年には、アグボグブロシーの電子廃棄物問題を捉えた作品により、東京書籍「国土・環境部門賞」を受賞しました。

Peco Kawashima
京都生まれ。日本で建築を学んだ後、2009年よりドイツで木彫刻を学びました。カールスルーエ美術アカデミー彫刻科修士課程を修了し、現在はカールスルーエを拠点に活動しています。

Three artists born and raised in Japan, now based abroad, present spatial visual expressions through color in painting, three-dimensional representation, and photography. Akiko Konada
Born in Osaka, Konada was influenced by her father, a painter, and developed an interest in painting and sculpture from an early age. After studying sculpture in Kanazawa, she lived in Australia, India and Africa before settling in Paris in 2022. Her recent practice has focused on two-dimensional works and pieces based on text.

Yoko Higuchi
Higuchi is drawn to people and their everyday lives, and has traveled widely to capture moments from daily encounters around the world. She also works as a Japanese language teacher in Israel, extending their interest in human connection throughlanguage. For this exhibition, she isolates a single color from the vibrant daily life of Ghana, using it as a starting point to evoke landscapes and lives that extend beyond the frame.

Peco Kawashima
Born in Kyoto, Kawashima lerned architecture in Japan and wood sculpture in Germany. She completed her MFA at the Karlsruhe State Academy of Fine Arts and is based in Karlsruhe. Working with ceramic, natural pigments, fabric, and paper, she emphasizes chance and material qualities, creating quiet, poetic spatial works.

〈展覧会情報〉
monade contemporary | 単子現代では、池田聡子、下浦萌香、Katri Naukari（カトリ・ナウカリ）による「縞の静寂で|Striations in Silence」展を開催します。

池田聡子は拾った石の模様や形をもとに、絶えず変化する物質の流れに沿いながら銅版画のもつ偶発性に委ねて作品を制作しています。下浦萌香は、場所に根ざした歴史や記憶、日々の営みのなかで形づくられてきた関係性に目を向けながら制作活動を行っています。Katri Naukariは、著述活動とともに有機的で断片化された形態を重ね合わせた作品をつくりながら、人間と自然との関係にある罪責と欲望の緊張を捉えます。

日常の風景や生活のイメージが、あるいは紙片や絵具、顔料が滲みとして現れ、斑となり、縞となり、層へと堆積するとき、人はどのような世界を感じることになるのでしょうか。事物がイメージとして生成する間際に起こる、静寂の時間にご参加ください。

池田聡子

下浦萌香

Katri Naukari（カトリ・ナウカリ）
ヘルシンキを拠点とする小説家、アーティスト。環境への不安と祖先に由来する知恵の探究を軸に制作を行う。これまでに高い評価を得た小説を2作発表しており、デビュー作ではフィンランドのカレヴィ・ヤンッティ賞を受賞。視覚作品としては、紙のコラージュ、グラファイト、木炭、インクによるドローイングを組み合わせ、有機的で断片化された形態を重ね合わせる手法をとっている。ドローイング、パフォーマンス、執筆を横断しながら、人間と自然との関係にある罪責と欲望の緊張をたどるような作品を制作している。

〈Exhibition Information〉
monade contemporary | 単子現代 is pleased to present Striations in Silence, an exhibition by Satoko Ikeda, Moeka Shimoura, and Katri Naukari.

Satoko Ikeda creates works based on the patterns and forms of stones she has collected, entrusting the process to the inherent contingency of copperplate printmaking while following the ever-changing flow of matter. Moeka Shimoura’s practice attends to histories and memories rooted in specific places, as well as to the relationships shaped through everyday activities. Alongside her writing, Katri Naukari produces works that layer organic and fragmented forms, capturing the tension between guilt and desire embedded in the relationship between humans and nature.

As images of everyday landscapes and life—or fragments of paper, paint, and pigment—emerge as diffusions, become mottled patterns, turn into striations, and accumulate into layers, what kind of world do we come to perceive? We invite you to enter this moment of silence, arising just before things take shape as images.

Satoko Ikeda
Born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1997. Completed an MFA in Printmaking, Department of Painting, Graduate School of Kyoto City University of Arts in 2022. Ikeda creates work based on the patterns and forms of collected stones, allowing the process to be guided by the element of chance inherent in copperplate printmaking. Recent exhibitions include Printmaking II: Printing and Its Deconstruction (Gallery Maronie, Gallery 4, Kyoto, 2024); Draw Water (solo exhibition, KUNST ARZT, Kyoto, 2025); Mitsubishi UFJ Bank X ART Project (Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Kyoto Branch, 2025); Kyoto Art for Tomorrow 2026(The Museum of Kyoto, 2026); and Kyoto Okazaki Art Project Exhibition (Charm Premier Kyoto Okazaki, Kyoto, 2026) among others. Moeka Shimoura
Born in Tokyo in 1995, raised in Osaka. Completed the Graduate School of Education, Arts and Culture, Osaka Kyoiku University in 2020. Shimoura focuses on relationships rooted and shaped by histories, memories, and everyday practices in specific places. Taking these accumulations as a starting point, she develops her artistic practice. Since 2021, she has been running Derahajiri, an artist-run space in the Hajinosato area of Fujiidera City, Osaka Prefecture. Through artist-in-residence programs, collaborations with local communities, and ongoing research, she explores ways in which art can breathe within everyday life.

Katri Naukari
Helsinki-based writer and artist whose practice explores environmental anxiety and ancestral knowledge. Naukari is the author of two critically acclaimed novels, and her debut received the Kalevi Jäntti Award in Finland. The artist’s visual work combines paper collage, graphite, charcoal, and ink drawing, often layering organic and fragmented forms. Working across drawing, performance, and writing, her work traces the tensions between guilt and desire in our relationship to nature.

monade contemporary | 単子現代では、田村尚子、アンソニー・プラスによる「幽の刻 | Tracing the Obscurity」展を開催します。

写真は時間のなかで現実の痕跡を刻印する技術として、事物のイメージを生産してきました。本展では、田村尚子とAnthony Plasse（アンソニー・プラス）による写真的なイメージへの実験的な試みをとおして、身体と空間、および存在の相互関係について考察を深めます。

田村尚子は、人や家屋、共同体、風景に時間をかけて向き合いながら、身体感覚や建築空間を写真やインスタレーションとして再構成し、存在の気配を掬おうとします。またAnthony Plasseは、メモの痕跡と光、場所の時間的・空間的な諸条件とその知覚について考察し、ドローイング的な手法として銀塩プロセスを用いながら絵画的な空間を生成させます。

写真的なイメージが気配となって支持体に刻印されるとき、まだそこにない存在はどのようにしていまここにある表象への抵抗として感じられるでしょうか。存在の暗がりからかすかに浮かび上がる、幽の刻にご参加ください。

田村尚子
写真家。初個展『Anywhere out of the world』1998年開催後、国内外で写真を中心に展覧会多数。写真集に『Voice』（青幻舎2004）、シリーズケアをひらく『ソローニュの森』（医学書院2012）、2014-2015パリCite Internationale des Arts制作滞在ののち『Thaumata／タウマタ』（Taka Ishii gallery Photography Paris, Tokyo2015）個展。近年の展覧会に新収蔵作品展『コレクション＋』展(アーツ前橋,群馬2025）、第19回ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ国際建築展＠アルセナーレにて国宝茶室『待庵』写真と「旅する茶会」を発表。作品収蔵にサンフランシスコ近代美術館、アーツ前橋(群馬）他。文化芸術活動ヴュッター公園主宰。

アンソニー・プラス
1987年生まれ。リヨン国立高等美術学校（フランス）、DNSEP（上級国家造形表現学位）。近年の展覧会に、2025 – 2013（ Poush, Aubervilliers, 2025）、「réparer」（telescope、京都、日本）、 「le pli」（La Chapelle Jeanne d’Arc Contemporary Art Center, Thouars, フランス, 2024）などがある。また、「Introducing」（Annabelle Gugnon, ArtPress 533, 2025）などで紹介されている。
