5/30（土）に、トモ都市美術館企画で、「銀座を裸眼で歩いてみよう！」をやってみます。国際的な眼科研究では「東アジア都市部では高校卒業時点で近視率が80〜90％に達する」と報告されており、なかでも日本の近視の割合は世界最高水準であることが指摘されているようです。つまり、日本の都市部を歩いている人たちの多くは何らかの視力矯正をしていると考えられます（かくいうトモトシも、視力0.1以下です）。
今回はその視力矯正器具を外して、路上や店舗、公園などを裸眼で歩いてみます。場所は多くの高級店が自身のブランドビジュアルを競うように並ぶ銀座。1895年創業の老舗「岩崎眼鏡店」に集合して、一斉にめがねやコンタクトレンズを外し、世界を眺めてみましょう。
いまだかつて「めがね禁止」という張り紙を見たことはありません。この「禁止されていないけれど誰もやらない微妙な行為」を通じて、何か新しい都市の見え方を発見する機会になればと思います。近視者だけでなく、目がいい人ももちろん参加可です（ときには見えなくて困っている人たちをサポートすることになるかもですが、、）。

On Saturday, May 30, TOMO City Museum presents: Let’s Try walking Bare-Eyed in Ginza!
International eye research reports that 80–90% of high school graduates in East Asian urban areas are nearsighted, and Japan has one of the highest rates in the world. This means most people walking the streets in Japan are relying on some form of vision correction (my own eyesight is under 0.1!).
For this experiment, we will take off our vision correction and walk the streets, stores, and parks bare-eyed. Our stage is Ginza, where countless luxury shops compete with their brand visuals. We’ll meet up at Iwasaki Optical Shop, a historic store established in 1895. There, let’s take off our glasses and contacts all at once and observe the world.
You never see a “No Glasses” sign. Through performing this “awkward act that isn’t prohibited but nobody does,” I hope we can discover a new way of seeing the city. People with perfect vision are of course welcome to join (though you might end up assisting those of us struggling to see…).
Feel free to drop in or leave anytime. I wonder who will show up? If nobody comes, Tomotosi will just be out there doing it alone.

5/23（土）に、トモ都市美術館企画で「神保町で30軒のカレー屋をめぐってみる」をやってみます。
カレーの街として知られる神保町には、本当に数え切れないほどのカレー屋が存在します（徒歩圏で400以上あるようです！）。そのなかでも今回は日本以外の国・地域の名前が入っているカレー屋に絞って30軒めぐってみます。
近年、外国籍のカレー屋オーナーやスタッフがビザの取得や更新に苦労し、閉店に追い込まれているというニュースを見た人も多いのではないでしょうか。当たり前のように享受している多様な食文化や街の風景は、不安定な制度の上にギリギリで成り立っているのかもしれません。当日は「近い将来消えるかもしれない景色」として、30軒をめぐってみましょう。
「異国カレーのルーツ」とも言える創業100年の老舗「スマトラカレー 共栄堂」に集合して、参加者でルートを相談しながら歩いてまわります。30軒のカレー屋を観察し終わったあと、「一番入ってみたいカレー屋」を決めて、打ち上げも兼ねてカレーをいただきましょう。
カレー屋がどのような場所に、どのような店構えで、どのようなメニューで営業しているのか。 多くの店をめぐることで見えてくるかもしれません。逆に、一軒一軒の小さな違いにも気づく機会になるかも。いずれにしても、街を新しい視点で見直す機会になれば幸い！

On Saturday, May 23, the TOMO City Museum will host an event: "Visiting 30 Curry Shops in Jimbocho."
Jimbocho is famous for curry, and there are countless curry shops in the area (apparently over 400 within walking distance!). This time, we will focus on and visit 30 shops that feature the names of foreign countries or regions.
Recently, you may have seen the news about foreign curry shop owners and staff struggling to get or renew their visas, forcing them to close their businesses. The diverse food culture and cityscapes we take for granted might just be barely surviving on an unstable system. During this event, let's walk around these 30 shops, viewing them as a "scenery that might disappear in the near future."
We will meet at "Sumatra Curry Kyoeido," a 100-year-old restaurant that can be called the root of foreign curry in Japan. From there, we will discuss our route together and start walking. After observing the 30 curry shops from the outside, we will all decide on the "one shop we want to enter the most" and eat curry there as a wrap-up party.
Where are these curry shops located? What do their storefronts look like? What kind of menus do they have? By visiting many shops, we might start to see some patterns. Or, it might be a chance to notice the small differences between each shop. Either way, I hope this will be a great opportunity to see the city from a new perspective!
You can join or leave the tour at any time. Who will show up? If no one comes, Tomotosi will visit 30 shops and eat curry all by himself!

5/2（土）に、トモ都市美術館企画で、「銀座を裸足で歩いてみよう！」をやってみます。誰にでも、街を歩いていて「今どうしても裸足になりたい！」と思うことがある気がします（？！）。ただ、公共の場で実際に裸足で歩いている人を見たことはほとんどありません！それだけ裸足で歩くことがプライベートな行為ということなのでしょう。

今回は靴を脱いで、路上での裸足歩きを実践してみます。場所は美しく整然とした街並みが続く銀座。銀座駅至近の老舗店・天賞堂のキューピッド像前に集合して、キューピッドに倣って靴を脱いで銀座を歩いてみましょう。

「土足禁止」の張り紙はよく見ますが、「裸足禁止」という張り紙を見たことはありません。その意味でも、この「禁止されていないけれど誰もやらない微妙な行為」を通じて、公と私について考えてみる機会になればと思います。裸足で歩ける場所を見つけることができれば、銀座で自分だけの場所を見つけられたといえるかもしれません！

On Saturday, May 2, TOMO City Museum presents: Let’s Try walking Barefoot in Ginza!. We all have those moments while walking down the street when we think, “I desperately need to go barefoot right now!” (?!) Yet, you almost never see anyone actually doing it in public! It just proves how intensely private the act of walking barefoot is considered to be.

For this experiment, we will take off our shoes and practice walking barefoot on the streets. Our stage is the beautifully orderly district of Ginza. We’ll meet up in front of the Cupid Statue at Tenshodo—a landmark of this historic jeweler established in Ginza in 1879. Following the Cupid’s lead, let’s take off our shoes and wander the area.

You often see “No Outdoor Shoes” signs, but never a “No Barefoot” sign. In that sense, by performing this “awkward act that isn’t prohibited but nobody does,” I hope we can rethink the boundaries between public and private spaces in the city. If we manage to find a spot to walk barefoot, we might just be carving out our own little personal sanctuary in Ginza! Feel free to drop in or leave anytime. I wonder who will show up? If nobody comes, Tomotosi will just be out there walking alone.

4/18（土）に、トモ都市美術館企画で、「銀座で歯をみがいてみよう！」をやってみます。誰にでも、街を歩いていて「今どうしても歯をみがきたい！」という状況が年に何回かある気がします（?!）。ただ、公共の場で実際に歯をみがいている人を見たことはほとんどありません！それだけ歯みがきがプライベートな行為ということなのでしょう。
今回は歯ブラシを持参して、路上での歯みがきを実践してみます。場所は美しく整然とした街並みが続く銀座。1888年に、日本で初めて「練り歯みがき」を販売したという資生堂に集合して、歯みがき可能な場所を探しながら歩きましょう。
駅のトイレなどで「歯みがき禁止」という張り紙を見かけますが、路上でそれを見たことはありません。ルールだらけの最近の公園ですら「歯みがき禁止」とは書かれていない。その意味でも、この「禁止されていないけれど誰もやらない微妙な行為」を通じて、公と私について考えてみる機会になればと思います。歯をみがける場所を見つけることができれば、銀座で自分だけの場所を見つけられたといえるかもしれません！

On Saturday, April 18, TOMO City Museum presents: Let's Brush Our Teeth in Ginza!
We all have those moments while walking when we think, "I desperately need to brush my teeth right now!" (?!) Yet, you almost never see anyone doing it in public. It just proves how intensely private tooth-brushing is considered.
For this experiment, bring your own toothbrush as we take this private routine to the beautifully orderly streets of Ginza. We’ll meet at Shiseido—where Japan’s first toothpaste was sold in 1888—and wander the area in search of a "brushable" spot.
You often see "No Toothbrushing" signs in restrooms, but never out on the street. Even today’s hyper-regulated parks don't explicitly ban it. By performing this "awkward act that isn't prohibited but nobody does," we can playfully rethink the boundaries between public and private spaces. If we find a spot, we might just be carving out our own personal sanctuary in Ginza!

3/28（土）にトモ美企画で「渋谷で犬の散歩についていってみる」をやってみます。犬さんの散歩を観察しながら渋谷を歩いてみようという会です。犬を推してるわりには犬を見ることの少ない渋谷では、犬の散歩をしてみるだけで非日常な体験をつくれるのではと思って、YUKHINXさんに相談させてもらいました！

On Saturday, March 28, TOMO City Museum is hosting “A Dog-Guided Walk in Shibuya.” We’ll be walking through Shibuya while observing a dog’s daily stroll. Even though Shibuya seems to love dogs (think Hachiko!), we rarely actually see them around. I thought just walking a dog here could turn the city into an extraordinary experience, so I reached out to YUKHINX! Our guest guide will be Mou-kun (Full name: Alexander of Momotaro), who lives with YUKHINX.
We’ll start at the Hachiko statue, head to the dog run at Yoyogi Park, and loop back to Shibuya Station via a different route. (Since the dog run requires registration, we’ll just be observing from the outside.) For a long time, dogs have been seen as “human partners.” This time, I want to flip that and think of humans as “dog partners.” We might just discover a whole new way to walk through Shibuya! Feel free to join or leave halfway. Bringing your own dog is more than welcome! Hope to see you there!

2/22（日）にトモ都市美術館で「銀座でレシート100万円分拾って、消費を追体験してみる」をやってみます。内容はタイトルそのままで、銀座の路上に落ちているレシートを合計100万になるまで拾い続けてみようという会です。言い換えれば、1円も使わずに100万円使った気分を味わってみようというものです。
高級ショッピング街として名高い銀座で、金遣いについて考えてみる機会になるかもしれません。また最も華やかな街でひたすら地面を眺めながら歩く体験は、銀座の別の側面と出会えるかもしれません。
途中参加・離脱OK。参加者で手分けして合計100万円目指しましょう。誰も来なければ1人でやってみます。

On Sun, Feb 22, TOMO City Museum will host “¥1,000,000 Receipt Scavenger Hunt in Ginza.” We’ll keep picking up receipts dropped on the streets of Ginza until the total adds up to ¥1,000,000—in other words, trying to “spend” a million yen without spending a single yen.
In Ginza, Tokyo’s iconic luxury shopping district, this might be a chance to think about money and consumption. And walking through the city while staring at the ground may reveal a different side of Ginza.
Feel free to join or leave at any time. Let’s split up and aim for ¥1,000,000 together. If no one shows up, I’ll do it solo.
