\「加賀宝生の誇り 佐野吉之助コレクション・前編」開催中！展示品紹介/
多くの人がお能ときいて、最初に思い浮かぶのは、般若の面かもしれません。
女性の嫉妬、怒り、恨み、悲しみといった怨念がこめられています。
角が生え、髪は乱れ、角や目、歯に見られる金色はこの世ならざるものへ近づいていることを表します。
実は般若、女性の怨念の最終段階ではないのです。
怨念が極点に達すると、女性はもはや蛇となり、耳は取れ落ち、完全なる異界のものとして凶暴な形相へ。この段階の面が真蛇です。
それを踏まえると、般若の面に刻まれた人間的な憂いの部分が深く感じられます。
そして「道成寺」「葵上」「鉄輪」など鬼女となる女性の腰巻として着用されるのが写真2枚目の丸紋尽くしの縫箔。縫箔は刺繍と摺箔で模様を表した能装束です。変化に富んだ丸紋の内には、鱗や龍、桔梗などさまざまな文様が収められています。
展示では一級品の能面、能装束が並んでいます。演目へと想像を膨らませながら鑑賞いただきますとよりお楽しみいただけるかと思います。
７月と8月は石川県立能楽堂にて、気軽に能と狂言を楽しめる観能の夕べが毎週土曜に開催されていますので、この機会にぜひ観能にも行かれてください。

For many people, the first thing that comes to mind when they hear “Noh” may be the Hannya mask.
It embodies the vengeful spirits of a woman—her jealousy, anger, resentment, and sorrow.
With horns sprouting from her head and her hair in disarray, the gold found in her horns, eyes, and teeth symbolizes that she is becoming more like a monster.
In fact, Hannya does not represent the final stage of a woman’s resentment.
When that resentment reaches its peak, the woman transforms into a serpent; her ears fall off, and she takes on a ferocious appearance as a being entirely of another world. The mask representing this stage is the Shinja (true Serpent).
With this in mind, one can deeply sense the human sorrow etched into the Hannya mask.
Every Saturday in July and August, the Ishikawa Prefectural Noh Theater hosts “Evening Noh Theater ” where you can casually enjoy Noh and Kyogen performances, so please take this opportunity to attend a performance👐
