現代アートギャラリー Galeria Punto（ガレリアプント）です。

Galeria Puntoは点としてのｷﾞｬﾗﾘｰ活動から線・面にいたる活動を模索し、時代の先端を走っていたい、そんな気持ちで芸術全般にわたる企画展を行ってきました。
同時代の作家がつくりだす優れた作品は、生活空間のなかで時代のメッセージとして人々にくり返し語りかけ、意味を問い、私たちを豊かにするのです。
作家は各プロジェクトにおいて、環境や社会的要因を念頭にそれぞれの思想やテーマを形にしていきます。かれらの作品発表の場をギャラリー空間に留めることなく、都市空間やさまざまな空間での演出や作品制作支援も行っています。
芸術が経済基盤の大きな柱として再構築されつつある現在、Galeria Puntoも新たな価値観の創造に寄与していきます。

Play house

絵画の中でも扱うアーティストが稀であるエンコ―スティック。中林万里子の絵画は、ほとんどがエンコ―スティックの技法で描かれています。蜜蝋に顔料を混ぜ、熱で溶かして描く古代からの絵画技法。古代ローマ時代やポンペイの壁画や、ミイラの肖像画にも使われ、数千年経っても色が鮮やかに残ると言われています。油彩や水彩とは異なる、すりガラスのような物質感と、硬質でありながら温かみのあるしっとりした艶を感じます。
是非、実際の作品をご覧いただければと思います。

Encaustic is a technique rarely practised by artists, even within the field of painting. The vast majority of Mariko Nakabayashi’s paintings are created using the encaustic technique. This is an ancient painting method in which pigment is mixed with beeswax and melted using heat to create the image. It was used in the ancient Roman era, in the murals of Pompeii, and in portraits of mummies; it is said that the colours remain vivid even after several thousand years. Unlike oil or watercolour paintings, her works possess a texture reminiscent of frosted glass, combined with a lustrous sheen that is both hard yet warm and velvety.

山から足が生え歩き出した人
A Person Whose Feet Grew from a Mountain and Set Off Walking

コロナ禍に街中から人が消える、という凄い状況が世界中で起こった。その時、皆が家から出ず籠っている様子から「山の人」が生まれた。ある意味あの時、それぞれがそこに根を張り、森となり、山となったように思った。そして今回の展示では、「自分」をいう山を育て、育った山から足が生え歩いている人を作った。そして、たまに腰を下ろし休憩する。自分というものと、他者との繋がり、日々の暮らしで気付いた他愛もない事を、ちょっと大袈裟な日記のように表現した。　中林万里子

本日から、中林万里子の「This is my diary」が始まりました。多彩な表現を小品から展示していますので、どうぞご覧ください。

During the COVID-19 pandemic, an extraordinary situation unfolded across the globe: people vanished from the streets. It was at that time, as everyone stayed confined to their homes, that the ‘mountain people’ came into being. In a sense, it felt as though, at that moment, each of us had put down roots there, becoming a forest, becoming a mountain. For this exhibition, I have created a person whose ‘self’—that mountain—has grown, and from which feet have sprouted, setting off on a walk. And now and then, they sit down to rest. I have expressed the self, connections with others, and the trivial things I’ve noticed in daily life in the style of a slightly exaggerated diary. Mariko Nakabayashi

本日は、9月3日から始まる中林万里子の「This is my diary」の展示。多めに持参したという作品は全ておさまる位置におさまり、平面・レリーフ・陶など多彩な展示に仕上がりました。
絵画は、以前から興味を持っていたエンコ―スティックを用いた作品群となっています。どうぞご覧ください。

Today saw the delivery of works for Mariko Nakabayashi’s exhibition ‘This is my diary’, which opens on 3 September. All the works—which she kindly brought in greater numbers than expected—have been arranged in their designated spaces, resulting in a diverse exhibition featuring two-dimensional pieces, reliefs and ceramics.
The paintings on display are a series of works created using the enkostic technique, which has long held my interest. Please do come and see them.

Final Day of ‘Rust-Coloured Memories’

森正樹の「錆色の記憶」にお越しくださった皆さま、大変ありがとうございました！すっかり空間に馴染んだ作品たちと共に森さん在廊の中、最終日を終えました。
そして9月3日からは中林万里子さんの個展が始まります。

A huge thank you to everyone who visited Masaki Mori’s ‘Rust-Coloured Memories’! We brought the final day to a close with Mr Mori in attendance, alongside the artworks that had become a natural part of the space.
Mariko Nakabayashi’s solo exhibition will begin on 3 September.

唄う舟猫
The Singing Boat Cat

たくさんの蒸気船に向けて唄う猫のイメージは、描いていたその頃、アメリカとイランが衝突しホルムズ海峡が閉鎖されたことと重なって、平和を希求する思いが溢れている。
実際に錆を使用した平面と想像を巡らす立体で構成された空間は、現実と虚構の狭間を愉しむようでもあり希望や幸せを願う光が照らしている。
森正樹の「錆色の記憶」は明日30日（日）までとなります。最終日は16:00まで。

The image of a cat singing to a fleet of steamships coincided, at the time I was painting it, with the conflict between the United States and Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz; it is brimming with a yearning for peace.
The space, composed of two-dimensional works featuring actual rust and three-dimensional pieces that spark the imagination, seems to revel in the liminal space between reality and fiction, whilst being illuminated by a light that embodies hopes and wishes for happiness.
Masaki Mori’s ‘Rust-Coloured Memories’ runs until tomorrow, the 30th (Sunday). On the final day, the exhibition closes at 16:00.

沈没した蒸気船
The Sunken Steamship

近隣の街道を散歩していたら、なぜかサンゴが落ちていた。というシュールな出来事から生まれた作品。そして続編のような「沈没した蒸気船」はサンゴが蜜を流して蒸気船が幽霊船になったという物語。蒸気船はオンラインショップからもご覧いただけます。

This piece was inspired by a surreal incident: whilst strolling along a nearby country lane, I came across a piece of coral for some reason. The ‘Sunken Steamship’, which serves as a sort of sequel, tells the story of how the coral oozed honey, turning the steamship into a ghost ship. You can also view the steamship on our online shop.

不思議な話
A Curious Tale

「アーティストって何を考えて作ってるんですか？」先日とある異業種の方から、そんなことを聞かれました。
そんな時はぜひ作家在廊日に画廊に行ってみよう。創造の過程では、美術の分野だけではない様々な事柄についての個人の思考や生き方が影響を及ぼしていると思っています。ちょっと不思議な話を引き出しにたくさん持っている森さんも、とても興味深い作家のひとり。偶然とも思える出会いや言葉は、思いのほか自分を動かしてくれることがあります。
明日27日は14時オープンです。

‘What do artists think about when they’re creating?’ I was asked this the other day by someone from a completely different line of work.
If you’re ever curious, do pop into the gallery on a day when the artist is in attendance. I believe that the creative process is influenced not only by the field of art itself, but also by an artist’s personal thoughts and way of life regarding all manner of things. Mr Mori, who has a wealth of curious tales up his sleeve, is one such fascinating artist. Encounters and words that might seem like mere coincidences can sometimes move us more deeply than we might expect.
We’ll be opening at 2.00 pm tomorrow, the 27th.

隣にある世界
The World Next Door

常滑という焼き物の街へよく遊びに行くという作家。背景に描かれた煙突や風景も自身の日常のすぐ脇にあるものを拾い上げる感覚なのだろうか。作品を細部までご覧いただくと私たちの日常にも自由な想像の世界が広がっているような気がします。

This artist often visits Tokoname, a town renowned for its pottery. I wonder if the chimneys and landscapes depicted in the background are also drawn from the very things that lie right on the edge of their everyday life. When you look closely at the details of their work, it feels as though a world of free imagination is unfolding right within our own daily lives.

探検家
The Explorer

「うちにいる三匹の猫は子猫の時に拾われてからずっと二階の部屋で暮らしていたが、去年から夜になると隙を見て階下のアトリエやキッチンまで探索するようになった。今では領地を拡大し、いつも僕たちのそばにいる」森正樹
作り手が傍に居ると、何だか作品も安心してのびのびしているようにも思えたひと時。

‘The three cats we have at home have lived in a room upstairs ever since we took them in as kittens, but since last year, they’ve started to explore the studio and kitchen downstairs whenever they get the chance at night. Now they’ve expanded their territory and are always by our side.’ Masaki Mori
It was a moment when it seemed as though the artwork, with its creator nearby, felt at ease and was able to express itself freely.
