「LE METTE GALLERY」はディレクターのルメテ・アデリンが2013年にフランスから来日、2020年に広島で成立した。日本から海外への発信に重点を置き、作家を国際的に紹介するギャラリーを目指している。また、2022年に名和晃平がディレクターを務めるSandwichと共にアートラウンジのデザイン及びアートディレクションを行い、岡山にパブリックアートラウンジ「Le Metté Adeline 」をオープンした。
新世代のギャラリーとしてこれまでとは異なるアプローチから作家の発見と発信を行っている。

【Exhibition Closing Announcement】

Hibiki Adachi’s solo exhibition
“Between Destruction, the Sea Flows”
successfully concluded on April 26.

Although there were many days of heavy rain during the exhibition period, we are truly grateful to everyone who took the time to visit. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the collectors who acquired works from the exhibition.

Throughout the exhibition, the artist was present every day, engaging directly with visitors and sharing the works in person. To those who have supported Hibiki Adachi’s practice over time, as well as to those who newly discovered the work through this exhibition, we hope you will continue to follow the artist’s future developments.

Commercial galleries serve as one of the partners supporting artists in their professional practice, taking part in exhibition-making, sales, communication, and the development of their careers. In recent years, more practice-oriented approaches have also been introduced within art education, and we feel that engaging with different contexts and perspectives can offer a broader understanding of the field.

At LE METTÉ GALLERY, we will continue to expand opportunities for local artists while strengthening our international presence, and remain committed to fostering diverse cultural activities.

【展覧会終了のご報告】

安達響 個展「破壊の狭間に海は流れる」は、4月26日をもちまして無事終了いたしました。

会期中は大雨の日も多くございましたが、そのような中でも足をお運びくださった皆様に、心より御礼申し上げます。また、作品をご収蔵いただいたコレクターの皆様にも、深く感謝申し上げます。

会期中、作家は毎日在廊し、ご来場の皆様と直接言葉を交わしながら作品をお届けすることができました。安達響のこれまでの活動を見守ってくださった皆様、そして本展を通して新たに関心を寄せてくださった皆様におかれましても、今後の展開を引き続きご注目いただけますと幸いです。

コマーシャルギャラリーは、プロの作家としての活動を支える一つのパートナーであり、作品の展示・販売・発信・キャリア形成などに関わる役割を担っています。近年では、美術大学においても実践的な視点を取り入れた取り組みが広がりつつありますが、さまざまな立場や環境を横断しながら全体像に触れていくことが、これからの活動において一つ重要な視点になると感じています。LE METTÉ GALLERYでは今後、地元アーティストの育成と発表の機会をさらに広げ、国際的な発信力を高めながら、さまざまな文化活動に取り組んでまいります。

「揺らぐ視覚 / FLICKERING PERCEPTION」 は、6名のアーティストによるグループ展です。
視覚的錯覚、形の反復、色彩の振動やズレといった要素を通して、「見る」という行為そのものを問い直します。

本展において作品は、安定したイメージとしてではなく、知覚を揺さぶる存在として立ち現れます。
身体的・感覚的なアプローチ、あるいはプロセスや構造への関心を通して、イメージがどのように生成され、変容していくのかが示されます。

鑑賞者は、作品との距離や視線の変化を意識しながら、
見ることの不確かさや、その中に生じるズレや摩擦を体験することになるでしょう。

FLICKERING PERCEPTION is a group exhibition featuring six contemporary artists.
Through optical illusion, repetition of form, and the vibration or displacement of color, the exhibition questions the act of seeing itself.

The works appear not as fixed images, but as phenomena that destabilize perception.
Rather than presenting completed forms, they reveal processes, systems, and sensory experiences in constant transformation.

Viewers are invited to slow down, adjust their gaze, and become aware of the subtle shifts and tensions that arise between image, perception, and the act of looking.

写真では伝わらない質量と、時間の層があります。
There are layers of weight and time that cannot be captured in images.

大理石に触れ、削り、磨くことで立ち現れる形象は、単なる彫刻ではなく、「存在の痕跡」として現れます。
Through touching, carving, and polishing marble, forms emerge not merely as sculptures, but as traces of existence.

実際の空間の中で向き合うことで初めて感じられる、密度と静けさがあります。
Only when encountered in physical space can their density and stillness truly be felt.

Artist Statement

大切な命の喪失が途切れることなく、私の身体に積もっていく記憶は、常に死の気配を伴いながら静かに、そして強く私の精神に宿っています。
The continuous loss of precious lives has accumulated within me, carrying an ever-present sense of death that quietly yet profoundly shapes my inner world.

大理石は太古の海洋生物の遺骸が長い時をかけて生成された物質であり、制作の過程で化石のような形象が現れることがあります。
Marble is a material formed over vast periods from the remains of ancient marine life, where fossil-like forms occasionally emerge in the process of carving.

無数の命の痕跡を削り、磨くという反復は、生命の記憶に接続し、死と生、現在と過去に向き合うための行為です。
The repetitive act of carving and polishing traces of countless lives connects me to the memory of life, confronting death and life, past and present.

本展では「命」という最も身近な自然に向き合い、その葛藤と畏怖を彫刻へ昇華します。
In this exhibition, I engage with “life” as the most immediate form of nature, translating its tension and awe into sculpture.

秩序と無秩序の狭間にある私たちの在り方を問い、多角的に捉え、示唆します。
The work questions our existence between order and disorder, offering a multifaceted perspective.

When I first visited Hiroshima in 2000, aside from its symbolic memorials, I felt little trace of the devastation it once suffered. The quiet, clean cityscape left a deep impression on me. Walking through its winding streets, I encountered rows of modest houses and a rich cultural atmosphere. Streetcars moved slowly along the waterfront, their sound blending into the sea breeze, leaving me completely captivated.

More than twenty years later, after visiting many countries, Hiroshima remains a city I deeply cherish.

I am sincerely grateful for this opportunity to exhibit here, made possible through the recommendation of Norimichi Akagi, the planning of LE METTÉ GALLERY, and the support of gallery G.

This exhibition features selected works depicting culturally rich locations, including Valletta, Vienna, Savannah, Venice, Wales, as well as the Tibetan Plateau and Jiangnan water towns.

Using various water-based media and techniques, I seek to express the essence of each place. I hope visitors in Hiroshima will enjoy the exhibition.
