“A Scenery-或る風景-” @ GALLERY ART POINT
We pass through countless landscapes every day. However, when viewed through the filter of an artist, a familiar scene is transformed into a singular, extraordinary vision—one that reflects universal truths or the artist’s own inner world.
In this exhibition, “A Scenery – A Certain Landscape -” we are proud to present a collaboration of veteran artists who have spent many years sincerely pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Through their masterful brushwork and profound sense of form, the “sceneries” they capture transcend mere realism, speaking to us of tranquil moments and fragments of memory. We hope that as these mature perspectives intersect, you will discover a landscape that resonates with your own heart.
This exhibition showcases a diverse range of expressions—including figurative, abstract, and realistic works—by a selection of mid-career and veteran artists chosen by our gallery. We invite you to explore “A Scenery – A Landscape of the Mind -,” where worlds are reimagined and reconstructed through the unique techniques and distinct styles of each artist.

The materials used on the work itself stand out on Japanese traditional paintings, there is a clarity in the works as if the pigments were like the soft light from the paintings which creates atmosphere to the work of art, and that is the major difference between Japanese paintings and Western traditional oil paintings.
Japanese traditional paintings have been developed in an unique way in Japan, but there is a certain influence of Western oil paintings such as putting a lot of layers of paint or abstract expressionism in contemporary Japanese artworks. There is also a way of making artworks using traditional Japanese painting techniques as well as contemporary ways of working, and this could possibly lead Japanese contemporary art world amongst other movements in the world.
In this exhibition called “Inscape”, we are focusing on Japanese paintings and we have selected artists who seek the aesthetics in the world of Japanese paintings. Each artist visualise their own “Inscape” using rock pigment on the surface of the works. The main concept of this exhibition is to show the impact of Japanese paintings in contemporary art scenes and the directions and possibilities of the Japanese art in the next generations.
