アーティスト・イン・レジデンス プログラム2025「CAMP」のカタログが完成しました。

The catalogue for the Artist in Residence Program 2025 “CAMP” is now available.

2025年度、ACACは施設の大規模改修に伴い長期間休館しました。制約のある状況の中で、どのようなプログラムができるのかを検討し、「CAMP」というテーマのもとで（災害ユートピア）、公募型AIR、海外連携AIRの３つの事業を実施しました。本カタログでは、記録写真に加え、事業に関わった方々やACACスタッフによるテキストを通じて、昨年度の取り組みをご覧いただけます。

アートディレクション・デザインは本庄浩剛さんに手掛けていただきました。同一のテーマのもとで異なるプロジェクトが展開された昨年度の様相を体現したデザインに仕上がっています。

カタログは、ウェブサイトのお問い合わせフォームからご連絡いただけますと、送料をご負担いただくかたちでお送りできます。ACACの事務室で直接お渡しすることも可能です。

In 2025, ACAC was closed for an extended period due to large-scale renovations of the facility. In response to this exceptional situation, we explored what kinds of programs could be realized, and under the theme “CAMP”, we implemented three initiatives: (SAIGAI Utopia), the Open-call AIR and the International Exchange AIR. This catalogue presents an overview of last year’s programs through photographs, along with texts by participating artists, curators, contributors, and ACAC staff.

The art direction and design were led by Hirotaka Honjo. The design embodies the diverse projects developed under a shared theme throughout the year.

The catalogue can be ordered via the inquiry form on our website and will be sent upon payment of shipping costs. It is also available for pickup at the ACAC office.

シンポジウム「八戸港から東南アジアへ 〜文化と芸術がひらく新たな航路〜」

八戸工業大学感性デザイン学部感性デザイン学科 戴周杰研究室が主催するシンポジウムに当館学芸員が登壇します。シンガポールにおけるアートシーンの視察報告、ミニパフォーマンス、パネルセッションと盛りだくさんの内容。ぜひご来場ください！

2026年は、日本とシンガポールの国交60周年にあたります。今年1月には、国立アートリサーチセンター（NCAR）が第6回NCARスタディ・ツアーとして、本学教員を含むキュレーターや研究者をシンガポールに派遣し、現地の文化機関の視察や専門家との交流を行いました。
　一方、本学のある八戸市は、日本有数の漁港・工業港・国際貿易港である八戸港を有し、1994年には東北で初めて東南アジア航路が開設されました。今日も国際物流拠点として発展を続け、東南アジアを中心に多くの外国人市民が暮らす北東北随一の工業都市です。こうした八戸と東南アジアのつながりを背景に、今回の視察で得た知見を地域に還元することを目的に、本シンポジウムを開催します。
　第1部では、本学教員による視察報告に続き、NCAR研究員をコメンテーターに迎えてツアーを振り返ります。第2部では、シンガポールにゆかりのある青森在住アーティストによるミニパフォーマンスを行います。第3部では、上記の登壇者に加え、多様な国・地域からアーティストを受け入れる国際芸術センター青森（ACAC）の学芸員を迎え、東南アジアの文化芸術の現状や地方都市における国際交流のあり方について議論します。
　本シンポジウムが、八戸港から東南アジアへとひらく新たな「文化と芸術の航路」を探る機会となれば幸いです。

国際芸術センター青森（ACAC）は、宿泊施設、制作スタジオ、2つのギャラリーを備えたアートセンターです。これまで国内外から多くのアーティストが滞在し、作品制作と発表を行ってきました。

ACACで制作活動を行うためには、3つの受け入れ枠があります。年に1度の公募を通じて、最長3か月の滞在制作をフルサポートする「公募型AIR」、学芸員がアーティストを指名する「指名型AIR」、そして生活費と制作費を自身で賄って最長1か月滞在する「自主滞在」です。これらに加え、4つ目の受け入れ枠として今年実験的に実施するのが、この「スタジオアーティスト公募」です。

本公募では、6か月〜9か月の長期間ACACで制作活動を行いたい青森ゆかりのアーティストを募集します。展覧会などの作品発表を目的として短期集中的に活動を行うのではなく、様々な試行錯誤を含む制作プロセスと時間をかけて向き合う場を設けることで、既に青森と関わりのあるアーティストが、自身の表現をさらに深められるよう支援することを目的としています。

Open Call Announced: Call for a studio artist

Aomori Contemporary Art Centre (ACAC) is an art facility that offers artist lodgings, production studios, and 2 gallery spaces. Numerous artists from Japan and abroad have stayed at ACAC to create and exhibit their works.

There are 3 frameworks through which artists can come to ACAC to engage in creative activities. The ‘Open-call Artist in Residence (AIR)’ programme is offered once per year, and provides full support over a maximum 3-month-long residency. The second framework is the ‘Invitation-based AIR’, in which artists are nominated by curators. Finally, we offer a ‘Paid residency’, in which artists cover their own living and production expenses and stay at ACAC for up to 1 month. And this year, on a trial basis, we are implementing the ‘Studio artist open call’ as a 4th framework.

For this open call, we are inviting artists with a connection to Aomori to stay at ACAC and engage in creative activities for a period of 6 to 9 months. This programme is not intended for short-term, intensive activities for the purpose of holding exhibitions or other presentations of finished works. Rather, by offering a space to engage with the creative process – including various trials and errors – over a longer period of time, the purpose of this framework is to give artists who already have a connection to Aomori the opportunity to further develop their artistic expression in Aomori.

💡Artists being applied the folliwing definitions are eligible to apply 1) someone who was born/raised in Aomori; 2) someone who currently resides in Aomori; 3) someone who resided in Aomori for a cumulative total of at least 1 year in the past; 4) someone who engaged in a cumulative total of at least 1 year’s worth of creative activities in Aomori in the past.
